It turns out the Pump Rules pregnancy pact is real!
Stassi Schroeder, Katie Maloney-Schwartz, Brittany Cartwright, and Lala Kent all vowed to get pregnant together during a couple’s trip to Mexico a couple of years ago. And their pact came true now that Stassi, Brittany, and Lala all have babies on the way.
“It was real!” Lala told Entertainment Tonight via a video chat interview. “It sounds so cheesy, but I have always been hell-bent on having my children grow up the way that I did, which was very much, like, my mom was friends with all my friends’ parents, and it was so much fun. I had a great childhood.”
According to Lala, the pact was put into motion when Stassi announced she was pregnant.
“I’m talking to her, and she smiles and says, ‘I’m pregnant,’ like, y’all need to get it poppin!” Lala recalls. “So, I called Rand, and I was like, “It doesn’t matter when the wedding is happening, we’re yanking my IUD out!’”
Stassi announced her pregnancy news in June while Lala and Randall went public with their baby news in September. Days later, Brittany and Jax revealed they were also expecting. Stassi is expecting a girl and is due in January 2021, while Lala and Brittany, on the other hand, are due in April 2021. The Give Them Lala Beauty founder is having a girl while Mrs. Jax Taylor is pregnant with a baby boy.
Randall adds that he thinks Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney-Schwartz will be pregnant by the end of 2020.
This is all setting the stage for season 9 of VanderBUMP Rules.
However, the future of the show remains up in the air. And even if VPR does get picked up for season 9 – it may not be the same show as OGs Stassi, and Kristen Doute will no longer be apart of the show. Bravo fired both in June after their past racist actions resurfaced.
The VPR cast has no idea if and when they will film again. Rumors are swirling that Bravo plans to start production on season 9 in January.
With that said, Lala admits she doesn’t know if she’ll be back for another season. Adding that she’s waiting to get the official “go” from production before making a decision.
“I need to see what next season would entail,” she admits. “I need to make sure that’s a healthy space for me. I don’t get to think just about what’s good for Lala and how she would react to certain things, you know? I’m going to be a mother. … I have my own child looking up to me, so it would have to be the right situation. It’s a different zone now. Brittany and I are becoming moms; I just don’t see me walking into SUR clapping back at Danica [Dow] for serving me the wrong meal, you know? A lot is going to change.”
“Right now, my hormones are running the show,” she notes. “So, if I were to react off of how I’m feeling now, I would be in a little hut in Puerto Rico, and no one would ever see me again.”
Lala adds that fans should expect to see a much different version of her – in real life and on Pump Rules.
“I don’t want her to have a mom that’s popping off left and right,” she says. “There’s a lot of things that are going to change. Now, I’m not saying I won’t clap back because that’s just in my DNA, but, yeah, I think I’m going to be much more delicate. I hope.”
It’s unclear if Bravo will renew Vanderpump Rules for season 9.
