“I am not going to return to Housewives, that’s not what this is about,” NeNe said. “If I wanted to return to Housewives, I could have. I had an offer.”
While NeNe has no plans to return to RHOA, she is “hopeful” she can mend her relationship with Bravo moving forward.
“I am very hopeful that we can work out our relationship out behind-the-scenes without everyone being involved,” NeNe revealed.
On September 26, NeNe accused Bravo of not wanting her to work at all, let along give her a spinoff after a fan suggested they do just that.
“Nene! Can @BravoTV give you the spinoff you deserve?” one fan asked to which NeNe replied, “They don’t think I deserve to work at all in any compactly.”
“It sound[s] like they forced you out!” another fan said. NeNe agreed, tweeting, “They definitely did.”
In her interview with Extra, NeNe also asserted that she wasn’t fired from RHOA. Instead, NeNe claims she was “pushed out” by the network.
NeNe said that leading up to her exit, she appeared in fewer and fewer episodes of RHOA.
“Something is very wrong with going from 18 or 23 episodes down to six … In the last four to five years, it has been less and less,” NeNe explained, adding, “Things just didn’t feel fair.”
As for her recently calling Andy Cohen a racist, NeNe said, “This is a conversation that he and I and people involved are going to have to deal with behind [the] scenes. All I can do is take you back to one of my old sayings, ‘I said what I said.'”
“The racist is the master manipulator! They using me for ratings like they have always done,” NeNe tweeted about Andy on Sunday, September 27.
Meanwhile, on NeNe’s YouTube channel, she accused Bravo of “forcing” her off RHOA.
She also demanded Andy stop speaking about her to help his ratings on WWHL.
“They have forced me out of the franchise; we will get to that in another video,” NeNe said. “So, since I have been forced out of the franchise, then leave my name alone. Let me sit over here and heal in peace. Leave me alone. If you don’t have anything positive to say about me working for your network after 13 years, stop bringing up my name on your show to help your ratings. Stop it. You don’t want me here; you’ve been forcing me out for the last four years. There’s no reason why you need to keep bringing me up and talking so negatively of me if I don’t mean shit to you.”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta will return to Bravo for season 13 in late 2020 or early 2021.
