Oh, the infamous hot mic rears it’s ugly head again. We all remember Barbara K. and Luann de Lesseps infamous ‘hot mic’ moments (which were beyond iconic.) Well, we now have a surprising and unexpected addition to the Bravo hot mic club – Gizelle Bryant’s 82-year-old father, Curtis Graves.
On the most recent episode of RHOP, Gizelle met up with her father and revealed that he had so much disdain for her cheating ex that he didn’t even walk her down the aisle at their wedding. Like any loving father, Curtis didn’t approve of their marriage after Jamal had cheating issues while the two were engaged, and was suspect that Jamal could be a loyal husband. While her father put on a happy face in front of the camera when learning that the two were getting back together, the poor guy isn’t accustomed to reality TV and forgot that he was still mic’ed up. So what went down?
After sitting down with Gizelle and Jamal, Curtis left the table to use the restroom, not realizing that Bravo will follow you wherever you go. Unfortunately for Curtis, his mic was still on and caught the following comment regarding Jamal, “This is not a good move for her. You know, this guy’s got 6, 7 baby mommas. You know? Do you want to deal with that again? No! As a father, you think twice about that kinda stuff. I’m done.”

On Sunday’s episode of Bravo’s Chat Room, Gizelle assured fans that there is no bad blood between her and her father despite what he said. Per Gizelle:
“‘So, you know, my dad is 82 years old, y’all. So 82-year-olds are gonna say something reckless out their mouth. And that’s fine. He does support me, he loves me. If I got married tomorrow, he’d be walking me down the aisle, and that’s all that ever matters to me.’”
Porsha Williams, who was also co-hosting the show, supported Gizelle by jumping in and saying:
“Listen, at the end of the day, I have definitely been in serious relationships, and through breakups, and I have had a breakup where you tell your family stuff, they don’t get over it sometimes. But what I love about your dad, though, is that he stands by you and your decision and what’s gonna make you happy for your family. And a lot of people, they get themselves in the way of that by still standing firm on, ‘I don’t want you with this person,’ but your heart is leading you a different way, and he’s going with that, and that is what’s so beautiful about that.”
Meanwhile, Gizelle’s RHOP co-star weighed in on her Dad’s hot mic moment via Twitter.
“When your DAD speaks the truth! Take notes! NOW that‘s [love] #RHOP,” Karen tweeted.
I’m sure that both Gizelle and her father are embarrassed about the hot mic moment; however, who can blame him? He has every right to be suspicious about their relationship as Jamal doesn’t’ have a great track record (and that’s putting it nicely.) He clearly doesn’t want his daughter to get hurt again and doesn’t want history to repeat itself. Hopefully, Gizelle moves forward with both eyes wide open while guarding her heart.
RHOP airs Sundays on Bravo.
