According to Kathryn, LVP didn’t really want to leave RHOBH. As RHOBH fans know, LVP stopped filming in the middle of season 9 amid the #puppygate drama. She then skipped the season 9 reunion and announced her departure from the show a short time later.
“I don’t think that [Vanderpump] wanted to get off of the Housewife show,” Kathryn revealed. “I think that she felt like she had to play her hand, and I think she tried to stay on it to some degree with some of the things that I know of.”
“She asked for some specific things that the show wasn’t going to give her to make it better so she can save face,” she continued. “And she walked away. But she, in my opinion, kinda got a little bit too big for the ensemble cast. And she did produce; she did try to control the storylines.”
The season 6 Housewife then explained how producers steered a dinner party in a different direction with the help of LVP.
“We were filming the scene at Erika’s [Jayne] house, and Tom [Girardi] was there,” Kathryn recalled. “And it was after I had already told Vanderpump and the rest of the girls like, ‘Hey, you know, Erika was like, warning me about you and I should stay away from you.’ And she said that like you’re a sniper or whatever it was. And so we’re there having this dinner, and we were all great. Everyone was getting along.”
Kathryn said that the scene was spliced and edited together so much so that it looked completely different on TV versus what happened in real life.
“It’s those kinds of things that go on,” she said. “But the funny thing is that and in that instance of that dinner, and they didn’t show it in the way they cut it all up. Vanderpump then said, ‘You know, Erika, why did you say those things about me?’ And Erika looks right at me and like starts in on me. And I’m like don’t bring me into this. You’re sitting across the table. Why don’t you two talk about it?”
“And the whole conversation was completely different than the way they ended up showing it,” Kathryn added. “There was no kicking anyone out of the house. We all hugged. And it was great. But they made that look so different.”
“You know, what’s really funny is one of the guys from the show called me, cause we get the show on Thursdays, and then ours aired, I think on Monday or whatever,” she said. “And he’s like, ‘Kathryn, have a glass of wine before you watch it. Don’t worry. Don’t panic. Everything’s gonna be fine. You know, you’re going to get some hate from this. And I just want you to know, it’ll turn around for you.’ It’s like how do you know that? And then I watched it, and I thought, God, that’s not at all how it went.’”
Meanwhile, Kathryn also offered her take on Brandi Glanville and Denise Richards’ season 10 drama.
‘If someone does something like that, I’m kind of like a person that feels like it’s everybody’s own business,” she said. “If she’s in a relationship and she’s married, obviously this is not an open marriage, and her husband would not be down for this, it’s wrong and shame on her for doing that.”
She continued, “And I feel bad for him, but you know, to think that this kind of thing doesn’t go on, it does. It is what it is. And I think it’s really sh***y if the show capitalized on it and didn’t consult with her in any way, shape or form and just had a ‘gotcha’ moment in his throwing her under the bus.”
Kathryn then had some super harsh words for the always unfiltered Brandi.
“To me, it kinda seems if you are going to sleep with someone like Brandi, and I am not saying she is a bad person, I don’t know her, but she definitely lives her life in front of everyone, why would you think that this would be a secret? I think she shares everything, doesn’t she?” Kathryn said.
“So that was not a very smart move of Denise’s,” Kathryn quipped. “So, if you are gonna sleep with a woman, or anyone, there are a million people you can go hook up with; maybe not the town crier. “
Part 3 of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 10 reunion airs on September 16.
