Andy Cohen is setting the record straight on Dorinda Medley’s shocking exit from the Real Housewives of New York.
While calling the outspoken NY Housewife “iconic,” Andy also admits that season 12 of RHONY wasn’t “a great season” for Dorinda.
The RHONY executive producer also revealed that while he “didn’t like” Dorinda’s turkey baster quip, the comment didn’t have anything to do with her firing from the show.
“She said something at the reunion that struck us all, which was that she should’ve taken the year off this year,” he said on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy. “She was in a bad place.”
He continued, “Her house had been flooded, her dad was sick. We lost Bethenny [Frankel] right as filming began, and we lost Tinsley [Mortimer] halfway through the season, so maybe Dorinda didn’t feel like she could take the year off.”
Andy then confirmed that he’d love for Dorinda to return to RHONY after she’s “renewed and refreshed.”
“I am really hopeful that this is indeed a pause, and that she will rejoin the show at some point. I have said that to her a couple of times, and by the way, I do not say that too often,” he revealed.
Check out what else Andy had to say below!
Part one of RHONY season 12 reunion airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
Thoughts on Andy’s comments? Do you think Dorinda will return to RHONY for season 14 or 15?
