It looks like this time she couldn’t make it nice.
Yesterday, we reported that Dorinda Medley announced her departure from the Real Housewives of New York after six seasons, making the following statement about her leaving the show:
“What a journey this has been. I have laughed and cried and tried to Make it Nice…, But all things must come to an end. This was a great outlet for me to heal when my late husband, Richard, passed away. I have met so many interesting people and learned so much about myself, about life, and about women along the way.”

Despite a seemingly graceful exit, AllAboutTRH can EXCLUSIVELY report that Dorinda was actually fired from RHONY for “horrific” behavior both behind and in front of the camera.
According to our rock-solid source, Dorinda was let go for her bad behavior and was “awful to producers all season.” It was communicated to us that her behavior was so bad that one producer declined to return to the Real Housewives of New York if Dorinda came back; however, said producer agreed to do another franchise.
This producer “refused to come back to NY because they wouldn’t work with Dorinda ever again based on how they were treated.”
In addition to issues with production, Dorinda was reportedly a “nightmare to all behind the scenes.” However, what sealed Dorinda’s fate was her behavior at the season 12 reunion. Despite her horrific behavior all season, she came to the reunion reportedly unapologetic and refused to own up to how she treated others. Dorinda came in refusing to apologize to how she treated Tinsley Mortimer or Luann de Lesseps. She also wouldn’t own up to any of her less than stellar manners.
Dorinda made it crystal clear that she was not sorry, not apologizing, and will not change who she is, which did not sit well with the higher-ups on the show. Between her poor attitude at the reunion and difficulty all season, production did not want to work with her if she returned. Also, it was agreed upon that RHONY needed a casting shakeup. Plus, with the reunion having gone so poorly, Bravo decided, along with production, that it was time for Dorinda to go.
Despite a reportedly horrible season, it was the reunion that sealed her fate as everyone was looking for some remorse or accountability that was just not there.
To be honest, I always thought Dorinda was entertaining; however, some of her scenes involving too many martinis were pretty bad, so I can imagine what may have happened when cameras were not rolling. Perhaps leaving the reality show will bring Dorinda some happiness and peace as she clearly was going through something last season of RHONY.
RHONY airs Thursdays on Bravo.
