Get ready for some major changes in the Big Apple!
The Real Housewives of New York is getting a huge casting shakeup for season 13!
Luann de Lesseps recently teased that the rumors of casting changes on RHONY were true. In fact, according to Lu, there will be several new Housewives joining the mix for season 13 of RHONY.
“There’s definitely going to be some new housewives,” Luann told ExtraTV on Friday, August 7.
Luann previously told Us Weekly that she was “asking some friends” to join the show in order to help “diversify the cast in New York.”
Meanwhile, multiple RHONY insiders confirmed that Bravo would be making some significant changes to the NY Housewives franchise.
“Bravo is planning to shake things up with The Real Housewives of New York next year,” one insider told Us Weekly.
A second insider echoed, “There’s going to be some changes. … A handful of white women doesn’t necessarily represent what New York City is all about.”
This move comes after Leah McSweeny called for more diversity within the RHONY cast.
“I hope that there’s not only diversity of race but an even deeper diversity of where someone lives or what their interests are,” Leah recently told Page Six. “I hope that there’s just more diversity all across the board because New Yorkers are not a monolith, obviously. I think that it is gonna head in that direction.”
The current RHONY cast includes Luann, Leah, Ramona Singer, Dorinda Medley, and Sonja Morgan.
I love this, but I’m so curious to know which current NY Housewives they will keep and which they will get rid of for season 13.
The Real Housewives of New York airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
