Gia, 19, Gabriella, 16, Milania, 15, and Audriana, 11, were looking forward to spending time in Italy this summer with their dad, however, due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, they are unable to travel abroad.
“Teresa’s daughters are really disappointed they can’t go to Italy to see Joe in August,” a source close to the Real Housewives of New Jersey stars told HollywoodLife. “They were supposed to leave next week before school started. Teresa’s biggest concern is obviously COVID and the kids.”
The family is hopeful they can reunite in the Caribbean this October to watch Joe’s celebrity boxing match against J.Lo’s ex-husband Ojani Noa.
“The girls were really looking forward to that. The family is still hoping to be able to see Joe in the Bahamas for his big fight in October, but nobody can plan that far yet. It’s all still up in the air, and that’s really upsetting for the girls. They haven’t seen their dad in months, and this is really, really hard for them.”
Meanwhile, Joe is now speaking out about this news that his girls won’t be visiting him this summer.
“In the end, while we all hurt, I’m the one truly missing out,” Joe confessed to Celeb Magazine.
“I miss seeing their beautiful faces,” he continued. “I have so much to show them in Italy. This summer was supposed to be US TAKING ON ITALY!”
Joe added: “I’m very sorry I can’t experience the privilege of taking that journey with them, though under [the] circumstances we all must do our part. We do realize this as a family, and it surely breaks our hearts not to see each other in person. We speak, and FaceTime, every day, [in the] end safety is Teresa and my first priority as we co-parent.”
Joe also revealed that he had so much that he wanted to show his girls this summer, including the renovations he’s made to their Nonno’s house.
“I was very thrilled to come [to the] new place in Salerno just [a] couple [of] days ago. I really wanted my girls to see the progress I made on [their] grandfather’s house. This means a lot to me,” Joe explained. “I wanted to really appreciate and explore this place with my girls.”
Despite the setback, Joe doesn’t feel like Teresa is keeping the girls from him and understands that she can’t control the current global pandemic.
“Teresa can’t open borders,” Joe joked. “[And] the borders are closed due to corona.”
He added, “Teresa and I talked about our future when she and the girls were in Italy and decided it was best to speak only based on [the] girls’ behalf.”
“We’ve got different views on things,” Joe admitted. “She is wrapped up in the way they look. I believe true beauty is on the inside- be confident and smart.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey will return to Bravo in late 2020 or early 2021.
