Sutton Stracke enjoys lavishing the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast with gifts, but she’s definitely not trying to buy their friendships!
The RHOBH newbie is setting the record straight after co-star Dorit Kemsley questioned her intentions.
“First, she gives me a gorgeous handbag. Then I get the rain boots. Now, this experience,” Dorit said in her confessional of Sutton’s generosity.
While Dorit is appreciative of Sutton’s kindness, she also wonders if Sutton is trying to buy her way into the group.
“Like, are you trying to buy your friendships?” Dorit questions, adding, “If she is, well, it’s nice to have friends in high places.”
Well, Sutton set the record straight on Twitter Wednesday night.
“I don’t buy friendships. I just buy clothes;),” she said.
This is when former RHOBH friend Dana Wilkey chimed in on it all and gave Sutton some friendly advice. If you recall, Dana infamously flaunted her wealth on RHOBH and bragged about buying sunglasses that cost $25k.
“I love @SuttonBStracke, but you don’t buy monogrammed boots for the GIANT group unless you believe their friendship or the cameras are for sale #25000 this!” Dana tweeted.
Adding, “I recall the producers loving stunts like that! Rain boots in LA? It doesn’t rain there. You should sell them in #miamiI hope you’re enjoying #rhobh have fun with it… go on the ride and don’t take any of it personally!”
Sutton appreciated the advice and insisted she wasn’t trying to buy any friendships on the show.
“Truly. The boots were a whim! But we loved them so much we decided to put them in the store. They are so cute!” Sutton replied.
Meanwhile, on the RHOBH After Show, Sutton explained the inspiration for buying ladies’ rain boots.
“Well, I think it was a joke. Somebody said, ‘Sutton, can’t you get us some really sparkly rain boots,’ because we were looking at the weather forecast in Rome,” she recalled. “And I was like, ‘Why, yes. Yes, I can do that.’”
Regardless of Sutton’s intentions, everyone loved the rain boots. Erika Girardi and Dorit Kemsley gushed about the shoes on the After Show while Kyle Richards, Teddi Mellencamp, and Garcelle Beauvais thanked Sutton on social media.
Loved them! Thank you ? https://t.co/ayKVd5zlF1

Dorit said Sutton “was really sweet” to get them all rain boots while Erika revealed that she got so much use out of the boots when living in New York this past winter.
“I wore them in New York the entire time I was in Chicago, so thank you, Sutton,” Erika said on the RHOBH After Show. “They were awesome, they were so cool, and I wore them, and thank you, they were f–king dope.”
“Erika realized that I was being sincere. That it wasn’t a buy gift or anything,” Sutton explained. “She was really appreciative. She’s a sweetheart.”
“I think any gift-giving if it comes from your heart and it’s meaningful, you know, I wanted to do something fun for all of us collectively. Again, it’s like going to a slumber party and bringing matching pajamas for everybody. It was just fun. It’s like in the nature of fun and bonding and bringing us together,” Sutton shared. “So, yeah, I think if it’s sincere, it doesn’t matter how small or big, it’s meaningful to somebody.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo.
