Former RHOBH hubby David Foster may have been on a reality show, but he’s still holding back when it comes to his personal life.
Music mogul David Foster appeared on the hit Bravo show while he was married to his fourth wife, Dutch model Yolanda Hadid. The two portrayed a picture-perfect, traditional marriage; however, when Yo got sick with Lyme disease, it seems that David started to shy away from their relationship. Despite how it looked to viewers, David insists that it’s just not true.
In a new documentary “David Foster: Off the Record” David touches on his divorce from Yolanda that took place in the middle of her battle with Lyme. David questions: “How can I leave a sick woman? The fact of the matter is that was not the reason I left. It was for a different reason which I will never disclose that had nothing to do with her being sick.”
David also hints that Yolanda was the driving force for the couple joining the show, something that David was not keen on: “My wife at the time wanted to do the show. I didn’t want to be the guy to say no.” David further disclosed that he hates to be known for his brief stint as a househusband as he added “Hey, I’ve got 16 f–king Grammys, half a billion records. F–k that show!”
David is currently married to his fifth wife, Katharine McPhee who even hints in the documentary that after four previous marriages, he still hasn’t got that whole ‘compassionate husband’ thing down as she states:
“There have been moments where you feel like, ‘God, does he have any empathy at all?’ He’s so good at disguising what he feels. He just wants everything to be OK at all times and if it’s not, he’s gone.”
I always felt that David missed Yolanda doting on him when she got sick and despite what he says, I’m sure it played a factor in their marriage. Perhaps if you’re not going to give viewers the full scoop, don’t mention it at all?
