The former Real Housewives of New Jersey star spoke to ExtraTV about Tommy’s shocking arrest. Caroline is married to Tommy’s brother Albert Manzo. The two co-own the Manzo family’s banquet hall – The Brownstone, located in Paterson, NJ.
“We are heartbroken. This is family on both sides,” Caroline confessed.
She went on to say that she wants “to know the truth” about the allegations.
“I want to know the truth, and my allegiance will lie with the truth. We don’t run from things like this, we address them, and I feel comfortable with that because we are being painted with a brush that does not reflect who we are as people,” Caroline continued.
The “blood is thicker than water” sisters have been estranged for many years. The cause of their fallout is unknown, but Dina has previously hinted that their relationship changed when she chose to walk away from RHONJ during season 2.
On Tuesday, Tommy was arrested for allegedly hiring hitman John Perna, a known soldier of the Lucchese crime family, to attack Dave in exchange for a discount wedding reception at The Brownstone.
Tommy pleaded not guilty to the charges. Federal Judge Cathy L. Waldor set Tommy’s bail at $100,000 after charging him with “committing a violent crime in aid of racketeering, assault with a dangerous weapon and falsifying records.”
Dina and Tommy were married for 11 years before officially splitting in 2016. Dina starred on the first two seasons of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, along with her sister Caroline. However, unlike his brother Albert, Tommy never appeared on the show.
The former couple’s marriage was over long before their official split. Dina was already dating Dave when he was attacked in July 2015. The couple eventually tied the knot in 2019.
