It’s no secret that Eva Marcille is out for season 13 of the Real Housewives of Atlanta but there’s a whole lot more casting tea to drink up so grab a cup because it’s piping hot!
On June 17, Eva confirmed that she would be leaving RHOA after three seasons of drama.
This news, on top of some cryptic posts from NeNe Leakes, left many fans wondering what other casting changes were going down in the ATL.
Now, we are learning more about the upcoming season of RHOA including who’s in, who’s out, and when filming will begin!
“Cynthia [Bailey], Porsha [Williams], Kenya [Moore], Kandi [Burruss], and NeNe [Leakes] were sent contracts to return to the show full-time,” an RHOA insider tells HollywoodLife.
Friends of the Housewives Marlo [Hampton] and Tanya [Sam] “have been asked back.”
While many fans had hoped Marlo and Tanya would finally get peaches it seems they will be returning as friends for season 13.
“They’re all planning on returning,” the source reveals. “A few of them have signed their contracts already, while a few haven’t yet.”
As for who will replace Eva that is yet to be decided but rumor has it two former Atlanta Housewives’ names are being tossed around.
“Sheree [Whitfield] is seriously being considered to rejoin the cast for season 13,” the insider says.
However, “Phaedra [Parks] will not be considered while Kandi is still on the show,” the source says.
The source adds that producers are “looking into casting at least one [housewife], but would like two other women right now to round out the cast.”
Filming for season 13 is scheduled to begin in July. One high note of the season will be Cynthia’s upcoming wedding to Mike Hill. The two are set to wed on October 10, 2020.
“Cynthia’s wedding is still on as of right now, and plans are in motion to have a crew there,” the insider adds.
One season 13 rumor that is completely false is the one claiming that NeNe was fired and not asked back.
“It is absolutely not true that Nene has been fired from RHOA. Furthermore, it was made abundantly clear prior that she will always be welcome on the series as long as she wants to be,” NeNe’s rep Steven Grossman said. “We are having on-going bigger picture conversations with NBC Universal and have not made any decisions regarding next season specifically. Any speculation or sources trying to create controversy by stating otherwise are incredibly inaccurate.”
Meanwhile, Marlo recently revealed why season 13 will be different than past seasons of RHOA.
According to Marlo, season 13 will be vastly different because of the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests after the murder of George Floyd on May 25.
“Because this is a movement — a movement that we didn’t even see coming,” she told HollywoodLife. “I’m positive things will change. I feel that with us addressing the issues to the executives, having that call, coming together with the changes that they’re already making. And they’re literally making changes, not just donations.”
Despite the potential changes to the RHOA franchise, Marlo says one thing will remain the same and that’s the drama.
“You know this is still The Real Housewives Of Atlanta and there’s definitely going to still be some drama! You know, unfortunately, we’re still going to have some drama,” she said. “But for the most part, I think that we’re definitely gonna pull it together and do what we have to do for the for the community.”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta will return to Bravo for season 13 in late 2020 or early 2021.
