Andy Cohen is making it known that he’s Team Bravo.
The Watch What Happens Live host and Big Daddy of Bravo is breaking his silence on the firings of four cast members from Vanderpump Rules – including OGs Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute after accusations of racial insensitivity surfaced last week.
“There’s so much happening in the Bravo universe. I will say this — so much talk about Vanderpump Rules, and then, of course, the reunion ended up airing last night,” Andy said on the June 10th episode of SiriusXM’s Radio Andy. “I will say this about what happened. I absolutely support Bravo’s decision; I think it was the right decision.”
While Andy made it known, he supports Bravo’s decision; he also reminded fans that he has no control over who’s hired and who’s fired on Vanderpump Rules.
“I’m not in charge of programming at Bravo anymore. I am not an executive producer of Vanderpump Rules,” he explained. “I don’t have anything to do with the show except I love it and that I host the reunions. I don’t produce the show, so what I want people to know is I have no say in hiring and firing. … There is a lot more to discuss, and we’re already having those discussions.”
Meanwhile, several Bravolebs have publicly reacted to the firing of Stassi, Kristen, Max, and Brett.
Former Pump Rules star Billie Lee wrote on Instagram, “Thank you, @bravotv, but I ask you to please cast more black and LGBTQ+ people on ALL your shows.”
Below Deck’s Kate Chastain called the firings “Karma AF.”
Meanwhile, RHOP’s Candiace Dillard said, “Don’t get caught up in the devil of the details. Losing your job, especially on such a public platform, is a blow. Instead of celebrating their fate, let’s celebrate what it stands for: the tip of the iceberg Of dismantling a centuries-long tirade of oppression & racism. Let’s hope these people can step away from this very shameful experience and learn something. I hope for them to step away and truly find some edification in the example of which they were made.”
