Season 10 of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills marked the first season in the history of the franchise that OG Lisa Vanderpump wouldn’t be a part of, and not surprisingly, many believed it was doomed to fail.
Many stans of the franchise believed it would tank without one of its biggest stars, but the RHOBH cast has managed to create fresh drama and keep things very interesting even without LVP in the mix.
Now, Dorit Kemsley is opening up about the show’s “easy transition” into filming without LVP. She also talks about how close the RHOBH cast has become and dishes on season 10 drama that’s to come.
“The group, the core group, has gotten stronger and tighter, even though you wouldn’t guess that in some of the episodes,” Dorit revealed on the May 28 episode of Bravo by Betches’ Mention it All Podcast. “We’ve all known each other four or five years. We’ve got two new girls. They’re great additions. They’re also diametrical opposites, and I think that’s what’s making it fresh and working.”
Dorit admitted that no one in the cast knew what to expect from the new season after learning that LVP wouldn’t be returning for season 10.
However, according to Dorit, the RHOBH cast didn’t miss filming with LVP.
“You start filming, and it just sort of goes, and it happens. I don’t think there was really time to feel her absence. So it just felt very natural. None of us thought it would have been that easy of a transition, but it really was,” Dorit explained.
As we already know, Dorit and LVP had a falling out during season 9 of RHOBH. LVP was accused of leaking a negative story about Dorit that claimed she abandoned her Vanderpump Dogs rescue puppy, Lucy, at a kill shelter. Dorit denied the story was true while Lisa denied leaking the story to the press. The two attempted to patch things up, but their meeting went awry.
Dorit says she’s attempted to reach out to her former friend but hasn’t had any luck.
“Sadly, we haven’t spoken, and that’s not because I haven’t wanted to or haven’t made attempts,” Dorit confessed.
These days Dorit says she’s not holding her breath when it comes to reconciling with LVP but admits she’s still hopeful it could happen one day.
“I always say I’m hopeful for the future, and you never know, but I’m not stopping life and waiting for it to happen,” she admitted.
“I never in a million years expected that. It’s not like I went one season with no glam and suddenly now it’s the most important thing. I’ve always been a glam girl,” she explained.
As for what’s to come on season 10, Dorit says that some major bombs will be dropping very soon on RHOBH.
“There’s drama… and then the drama gets bigger and bigger and then bigger. And then there’s a few bombs! So there’s a lot to look forward to,” she added.
