The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills - RHOBH

Let’s Discuss: RHOBH “Threesome-Gate” Is The New “Puppygate” Plus, Tell Us Who’s Side Are You On?

Ah, a new season full of fresh drama.

Most Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans were hoping that season 10 wouldn’t be another season built around one issue like season nine was, we all remember #puppygate, right? However, it looks like that’s exactly what’s going down in Beverly Hills this season.

Instead of season nine’s #puppygate, we are dealing with a new drama that I’ve dubbed “threesome-gate.”

Ever since that fateful pizza dinner at Denise Richards’ house and the now infamous threesome conversation that took place – it’s all the ladies seem to be talking about.

This “threesome-gate” drama is quickly taking its place as the star of season 10. It’s slowly but surely pitting the cast against each other.

If we rewind to episode four, Denise took issue with the ladies talking about threesomes and sex while her kids and their friends were eating at the next table.

The ladies found this quite odd considering Denise talked about her husband Aaron Phypers “big d–k” the minute she sat down at the dinner table. This is a point many RHOBH fans have brought up as well.

In episode 5, Denise made it clear that she was upset over what her teenage daughters and their friends overheard during the dinner. Denise told Erika Girardi that she had to have a talk with her oldest daughter Sami about the threesome-conversations. She also voiced her concern with Teddi Mellencamp and Sutton Stracke.

While Denise seemed upset over what her daughters may or may not overheard, 15-year-old Sami wasn’t phased by what she overheard at all.

In fact, Sami and her friends “were dying of laughter” over the threesome talk and felt it was “fine” since they aren’t “5-years-old.”

At first, the drama seemed to end there, but not surprisingly, it continued to rear its ugly head. Fast-forward to this week’s episode, and the drama over “threesome-gate” is back in a MAJOR way.

In episode 7, most of the ladies embarked on a girls’ trip to Santa Barbara. Garcelle Beauvais couldn’t be there due to work, and Denise showed up late again because of filming for the Bold and the Beautiful.

At lunch, Kyle Richards asked if she should talk to Denise about their tiff at her dinner party. Erika and Teddi quickly pointed out that Denise was more upset about the threesome talk than anything Kyle said or did.

“I saw her; we met for coffee. She said she had to explain to the kids what all the sex talk was about,” Erika explained as a flashback of Denise and Erika’s lunch played on the screen.

“She told me about that too,” Teddi Mellencamp chimed in.

“Well it must bother her a little bit if she’s mentioned it a couple of times,” Lisa Rinna added to which Teddi replied, “We’ve had multiple conversations with her about these types of topics so it’s an adult dinner or it’s a kids dinner.”

“We’re going to Denise and Aaron’s, we’re not going to church,” Erika pointed out.

“She took her husband to get a happy ending. She can’t be that offended,” Rinna quipped.

“That had a hooker at Thanksgiving,” Erika continued. “They already know if they haven’t had one already.”

Not surprisingly, that last comment by Erika left the ladies a little shocked. Denise then joined the group, and the conversation shifted.

However, the topic made the rounds again later that night at dinner.

“You know I had you all over at my house and I had my kids there and their friends and honestly, I’ve never talked about a threesome with my child before,” Denise explained. “I would not want to hear my mother and her friends talk about threesomes.”

“I’m not a prude but that doesn’t mean I want my kids or their friends hearing adult conversations at our home. It’s so surprising that these women aren’t getting it,” Denise added in her confessional.

“I just think it’s a little naive. I mean, yes, it was disrespectful, but I don’t think it’s anything they haven’t heard,” Erika added.

“Of course, it’s nothing they haven’t heard,” Denise agreed. “I just didn’t want them to hear it from their mom and mom’s friends. All I was saying was, can we keep it down with the kids right there. I will be mindful of them being in earshot around all of us, that’s all.”

Erika laughed at Denise’s comment as the former Bond girl continued, “Honestly, it takes a lot to offend me. I wasn’t going to say anything until Sami said something to me, and I was like, ‘Oh, shit,’ ya know. It affected her. So, I just told her I apologize that you heard that, and I hope that your friends don’t go home and say anything to their parents.”

“What did she say?” Erika asked Denise.

“I don’t want to get into this anymore. It’s not that big of a deal. We’re done,” Denise replied, refusing to explain that her daughter laughed off the threesome talk and was unphased by it.

The next morning the “threesome-gate” conversation continued.

“I feel like you’re using the kids to somehow make us look bad,” Rinna told Denise.

Denise went on to say she wasn’t “mad” at anyone over the threesome talk, but once again, Erika disagreed, pointing out, “You were concerned enough to bring it up to three people.”

The ladies felt Denise was being a “hypocrite” because Denise has openly talked on camera about Aaron getting a “happy ending” massage, her ex-husband Charlie Sheen inviting hookers to Thanksgiving. She’s also gushed about Aaron’s “big” penis on multiple occasions. Denise even posted a photo of Aaron, laying in bed with an erection on Instagram.

Yet Denise claims that what she tells her girlfriends in private while having fun is different than saying it in front of her kids. However, Denise seems to forget she didn’t say all of this in private; she said it all on camera for the world, and her girls to see.

And oddly enough, I think this is just the tip of the “threesome-gate” iceberg.

Meanwhile, some fans feel that Denise has changed this season and is playing a character. Others think that the group has picked Denise as their new target.

Some fans also pointed out that they thought “kids and husbands” were off-limits and felt Rinna and Erika were being hypocritical talking about Denise’s daughter and husband.

Whew, that’s a lot to unpack.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo.
