Erika Girardi recently shared a rare photo of her son Tommy Rizzo on Instagram.
“People say we look alike. No, you can’t comment,” Erika captioned the post alongside a laughing/crying face emoji.
This post was quite surprising to fans as Erika has always been a fiercely private mama bear when it comes to her son, who is a member of the LAPD.
Now the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star is revealing why she decided to FINALLY share a peek into apart of her life we rarely see.
Erika admits she may have shared the photo because she’s “quarantine crazy.”
However, she admits she also shared it because she’s super “proud” of her “essential worker” son, especially during this crazy time.
“I am a proud mom of my essential worker, son. He’s out there like working like every other man and woman. He’s on the front lines,” Erika told Andy Cohen on Radio Andy.
Erika went on to explain that she does her best to keep Tommy’s life private and off RHOBH because “he didn’t choose this life; I choose this life.”
“I don’t care if he’s an adult, and he carries a gun and a badge. At the end of the day, he’s still my boy. But you know what, I posted it, and I’m glad I did. He’s a very fine young man, and I’m super proud,” Erika confessed.
As for the post, which Erika says hasn’t come across Tommy’s radar yet, it is her “best performing post” on Instagram.
“I haven’t heard yet,” Erika said while laughing when asked if Tommy’s seen the picture. “Hopefully, it doesn’t even come across his whole situation.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo.
