Sutton Stracke may be one of the new girls on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills block, but she’s very aware of what the show’s fans think of her.
“Can I be a little snobby? Yes. But is that my whole personality? No,” Sutton confesses to ET. “It takes a minute. I think in the very beginning especially, I really did rely on — I was nervous — and I relied on a lot of old, debutante skills to kind of get me through. And I think, yeah, I don’t like a lot of what I saw of myself [on the show so far], either. But I know who I am and that’s not, like, all there is. I think that’s just, like, a defense mechanism in a way, maybe.”
“I liken myself to, like, a nervous cat at first,” she says. “I was just, I was already just ready for something to happen to me, and it didn’t happen. And then we were fine. And then everything’s great.”
Meanwhile, Sutton also explained why she isn’t a full-time Housewife for season 10.
Fans were shocked when it was revealed Sutton would only be a “friend of” the Housewives for season 10 as many fans believed she would be a full-time diamond holder.
It turns out that Sutton’s ex-husband is to blame for her “friend” status on RHOBH. According to reports, Sutton’s ex-husband didn’t want their minor children to appear on the show.
“Well, look, I got a lot of diamonds,” Sutton jokes about not getting to hold a diamond in the season 10 intro. “But, you can always get one more. There’s never enough diamonds. I think no woman would refuse a diamond.”
While Sutton is hopeful she’ll be upgraded to full-time status for season 11 of RHOBH, she understands Bravo’s decision to downgrade her to a friend for season 10.
“I was hoping that I was going to be able to show all the different aspects of my life because I think when you look at all the girls, they show all of the facets of their lives and there’s a big portion of my life that’s missing, which is my home life and my family,” she shares. “I think that’s when you get to see the softer side of someone.”
“I’m not always, like, so militant and mean,” she adds. “Well, actually, that’s not true. At home, that might be the worst place to see me be militant and mean.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo.
Are you surprised Sutton is so self-aware? Do you think she’ll be full-time for season 11?
