They say third time is the charm, but that’s not the case for Joe Giudice.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey staple’s third deportation appeal has been denied.
After the news broke that Joe’s appeal was denied, the Giudice family lawyer James J. Leonard spoke to PEOPLE about the devastating news.
“We have always maintained that Joe Giudice belongs in the United States with his family, not in Italy,” Leonard said.
“The immigration laws in our country are both draconian and antiquated and need to be revisited by forward-thinking members of Congress,” he added.
As for whether or not Joe will appeal the decision, Leonard said, “That will be discussed with Joe and his immigration counsel in the coming days.”
However, despite the sad news, Leonard insists that Joe is remaining “very positive about life.”
“He’s in Italy doing everything he can to keep busy and stay healthy. I know he’s working on some projects that I’m sure you will hear about soon. For now, it’s [a] day at a time like everyone else.”
“Immigration is the hottest topic on the planet, and I think Joe is caught in the crossfire of that,” he added.
When asked by Gorga what chance, in percentage, Joe had of coming home to NJ, Leonard said, “It’s not good.”
Meanwhile, Joe Giudice also spoke out after the news broke that his latest appeal was denied.
“I’m scared my kids’ world will be without me,” Joe wrote on Instagram along with the hashtags “#imsorry #brokenheart #fatherdaughter #myworld.”
He continued, “My heart is aching. I won’t see my girls glowing smile that I loved waking to every morning now, is lost. That makes me scared; it means that my kids’ world will be without me.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey will return to Bravo in late 2020 or early 2021.
We are heartbroken for the Giudice family especially Gia, Gabriella, Milania, and Audriana.
