Kelly Dodd is apologizing for her recent comments about CoronaVirus.
On Instagram, the Real Housewives of Orange County star said that CoronaVirus was “God’s way to thinning the herd.”
Naturally, the comments didn’t sit well with many. Kelly also drew criticism for continuing to travel between Orange County and New York City with her fiance Rick Leventhal.
Kelly Dodd who refuses to stay home, is flying back + forth to NYC has now had her SECOND test for corona virus.. I’m disgusted. She records her self leaving her home bc she knows she can get tested (as she’s rich) when health care workers who have no choice can’t? Gross. #RHOC pic.twitter.com/oBFC8FEDMG

We always knew @RHOC_KellyDodd was a total dumbass and asshole. Now she’s proven it even further by being totally unsympathetic to those dying. Poor people of color are dying more than white people yet COVID is just “thinning the heard.” A 5 yr old died yesterday. Fucking moron.

Kelly quickly apologized after her comments went viral in the Bravosphere/gossip columns.
In a video on her Instagram stories, Kelly apologized for her comments and said that they were misinterpreted.
“I want to give a public apology,” Kelly said while filming in front of a gorgeous outdoor pool. “When I wrote that it’s God’s way of thinning the herd that’s not what I meant. What I meant was, do these pandemics happen because it’s God’s way? I’m not God, I’m not insensitive, I feel bad for all the families that lost loved ones and I do think we should all stay home and protect everybody.”
“That’s not what I meant and I want to apologize to anyone that got offended, OK? I’m sorry,” Kelly added.
She continued, “So for anybody who felt offended by my stupid writing of God thinning the herd, I don’t — I’m just asking a question. Is it God’s way of thinning the herd? I don’t know. I just feel bad and my choice of words were stupid and I hope you guys can all forgive me for saying something so ridiculous and so stupid.”
“So again, please accept my apology and I feel bad for everybody out there that has lost loved ones and I hope everybody’s safe and protects themselves from this pandemic.”
However, it seems that Kelly wasn’t that sorry. The RHOC star later posted a video of her getting tested for CoronaVirus. Some have alleged that it’s Kelly’s second time being tested for the virus but that is unconfirmed.
One Twitter follower asked, “How did you get tested? People who have symptoms can’t get a test.”
“You can get tested if you know people!” Kelly replied.
Meanwhile, Kelly also later went on a rant about Coronavirus during an Instagram Live. Kelly compared the Coronavirus pandemic and the current stay at home rules to World War I, II, and the Holocaust; saying that “this pandemic isn’t real bad in the grand scheme of things.”
Kelly went on to say that everyone has to put things into “perspective” and stop “complaining that we can’t socialize or that we have to wear a mask.”
