When Garcelle Beauvais joined the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills she got some sage advice from two Real Housewives veterans on how to navigate the world of reality TV.
According to Garcelle, it was NeNe who gave her the best advice but admits she is still thankful for Cynthia’s kind words.
“She said, ‘Girl, they’re gonna be lying and stabbing you in the back. Watch out,'” Garcelle recently said of NeNe’s advice on WWHL.
“Cynthia being as sweet as she is was like, you know, ‘Have fun. They’re gonna love you. You’re gonna be great.’ She was very cool,” Garcelle told The Daily Dish.
Adding, “Nene was like, ‘Girl, look out, they’re gonna lie. They’re gonna stab you in the back.’ I got two different perspectives from them.”
While Garcelle appreciated all the advice she knew she had to go into the show without any preconceived notions and experience it for herself.
“I always tell my kids like when they’re starting a new school year, and they’re all like, ‘This teacher is really strict.’ And I always go, ‘You know what, your experience is gonna be your experience. You gotta go in with a blank slate and see what you get,'” Garcelle explained. “And so that’s kinda how I went, even though Cynthia and Nene gave me their opinion. I felt like, let me just go in with no preconceived notions and just go in and have fun and see what it’s like. I’m a big girl. I can handle it.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo.
