Vicki Gunvalson has been a Bravo staple since the inception of the network. The OG of the OC has been apart of the Bravo family since the very first episode of the Real Housewives of Orange County. One could even say Bravo is the house that Vicki helped build. For years and years, Vicki and her family were reality TV gold; however, like all good things, they must come to an end.
Following a demotion to “friend of the Housewives” for season 14, Vicki was unceremoniously fired from the show for good, making the upcoming season of RHOC the first OG of the OC-less season in 15 years.
While Vicki has played it cool and said she was “over” the show, she’s now singing a much different tune.
According to a new interview, Vicki fears that she will NEVER return to the Real Housewives of Orange County.
More importantly, Vicki worries that Bravo is done with her for good.
“At the end of the day, Bravo moved on, and it wasn’t me it was them, and I wasn’t ready to go walk away,”
Vicki told HollywoodLife
. “When you create something it’s like you finish the house and then they said, ‘OK, you have to move out.’”
As far as her tenure on RHOC, Vicki said, “I felt like I built a really great, strong franchise, and it hurt my feelings, and I think they’re done with me.”
When asked why she thinks Bravo is done with her, Vicki admitted it’s a gut feeling that has a lot to do with her season 14 demotion, which marked the first since 2006 that Vicki wasn’t a mainstay on RHOC.
“I don’t know. I just feel like they wouldn’t have done part-time Season 14 and then end it and they dangled that carrot in front of me, [like], ‘We’ll bring you back part-time, and next time we’ll bring you back full-time like some of the other ones,’ and then it was just like, ‘We’re done with you and Tamra [Judge],’” she explained.
Vicki admitted that she doesn’t understand the changes Bravo is trying to make with RHOC but said she’s “not crying anymore about it.”
“I just didn’t get it,” she confessed. “I was crying every day, morning, noon, and night, on my way to work, on my way home from work. I was like, ‘What happened? I’m the same person,’ but they had different plans, I think.”
She went on to reveal that she’s not a fan of the new pack of girls on RHOC
. Gina Kirschenheiter, Emily Simpson, and Braunwyn Windham-Burke have all joined the show in recent years, and as we all know, Vicki didn’t exactly welcome them with open arms. In fact, Vicki never really warmed up to any of the new additions and honestly had no connection with any of them.
“Truthfully, I don’t really like the new girls. There’s no authenticity,” Vicki revealed. “I know I’m not really supposed to say that, but when you’re on as long as me, and you created it, you can see through it, and I got really upset about it. I think it was wrong, and I thought we were filming a reality show, and for me, my reality is pretty damn exciting.”
The Real Housewives of Orange County are expected to return to Bravo for season 15 in mid-to-late 2020.
Thoughts on this all? Is Bravo done with Vicki? Will they ever bring her back to RHOC? Do you think Emily, Gina, and Braunwyn are inauthentic?
