Tinsley Mortimer has a lot to celebrate – a new season of the Real Housewives of New York and an engagement to the love of her life.
Season 12 of RHONY, is a BIG season for the NYC socialite as she rekindles her romance with her on-again, off-again love Scott Kluth. However, this time around Tinsley gets exactly what she wants from her relationship with Scott when he gets down on one knee and pops the question.
Yet, like so many others around the world, Tinsley and Scott’s wedding plans are currently up in the air amid the COVID19 pandemic.
Now, in a new interview with The Daily Dish, Tinsley admits she and Scott are rethinking everything when it comes to their upcoming nuptials.
“We got engaged at the end of November. And, we kind of were like OK, well, we started to talk about different plans and things. And then we were like let’s get through his busiest time with his business through Christmas,” Tinsley explained.
She continued, “So, it was just like OK, we’ll just have to enjoy being engaged. And so that’s what we did. And then we traveled a bit and stuff after Christmas, which was so nice. And we started to talk about some plans. And we know we want to do it small, but then even in January all the stuff, this is when it [was] starting to happen in China with Wuhan and stuff. And we had considered doing something actually in Japan. [That] was kind of one of our first plans.”
While the couple was hoping for a spring or summer wedding, Tinsley admits it’s “hard to commit to something” when everything is up in the air at the moment.
“So we started to shift off of that plan and then we were talking about other things. And now it’s just difficult. It’s really difficult to try to plan anything, even a couple weeks from now,” she said. “You know what I mean?”
Despite the setback, Tinsley says she’s just happy being engaged. In fact, Tinsley says she’s enjoying being engaged and knowing that she and Scott have committed to their future after their various makeups and breakups.
“I’m happy that we’re together and we’re healthy and we’re here with our dogs. And so I can’t complain and we want a small wedding, so we’ll be able to, once we know more about what’s going on, we’ll be able to plan it hopefully quickly. And we’re thinking something in the summer, so still. But we, you know, again, we just don’t know,” she said.
As for their ideal wedding, Tinsley says she’s totally good with an intimate, scaled back wedding.
“Look, if we just even do something at home and it’s just us. We’ll figure it out,” she said. “We’re happy being together and we’ll just see.”
Season 12 of the RHONY premieres Thursday, April 2, at 9 p.m. ET
I think Scott and Tinsley are better off just planning their wedding for early 2021 at this point. My cousin is getting married in September and it’s not looking good for their wedding at the moment. Many experts are saying to push all weddings and big events to 2021. Wishing Tins and Scott the best of luck!
