The former Real Housewives of Orange County couple are continuing to battle over the custody of their three small children.
Jim, who is currently awaiting test results for COVID19, claims Meghan took their kids to California without telling him.
“Meghan took the kids to Los Angeles in mid-March in violation of her custody agreement and without discussing it with or even telling Jim,” an insider told Page Six. “Jim is livid that she would travel with small kids during this health crisis and put them at risk, and also he is unable to see them or take care of them because of travel restrictions. Meghan’s actions were reckless and irresponsible.”
Another insider told Us Weekly, “Meghan took the kids to California unbeknownst to Jim. He can’t see his kids and he’s not going to travel. She can’t do that without talking to him first and Jim is saying that this was not discussed with him before she did it.”
According to Page Six’s insider, Jim returned their three children Aspen, 3, and sons Hayes and Hart, 2 to Meghan on Friday, March 15 when Aspen began running a fever. Unbeknownst to Jim, Meghan and the kids then flew to Califonia the next day.
Jim, allegedly, only found out that his kids were in Califonia while on a FaceTime call with them days later.
However, a rep for the former RHOC star explains, “Meghan and Jim were going to exchange custody on Monday the 16th. The Monday prior to the trip, Meghan told Jim she could take the kids on the 13th if he wanted her to. He said yes and he went to Nashville with his daughter and live-in girlfriend and partied there for several days.”
The rep added that Meghan simply moved her trip to Califonia up early from the 16th to the 14th.
“Meghan took her to the doctor and the child didn’t have a fever and had a clean bill of health,” the rep said. “Meghan would never put the children in harm’s way.”
Jim’s rep, on the other hand, refuted Meghan’s version of events.
“I’m not sure what world Meghan is living in, but Jim had absolutely no idea she was taking the children, one of which who had a fever, on a plane to Los Angeles. Jim never ever would have agreed to that. And if a judge signed off on this, Jim would sure like to see a copy of that order,” Jim’s rep Steve Honig told Us Weekly.
“There was never any agreement whatsoever to take the children to California,” Jim’s rep told Page Six. “Jim was completely blindsided and is unaware of any judge signing off on this.”
An insider added, “If Jim had known Meghan was planning to take their children to California, he never would have let that happen. She took a child with a fever to an epicenter of this crisis.”
Meanwhile, Meghan’s rep defended her client’s actions in a full statement to Page Six:
Umm…Jim’s an ass, IMO. Thankfully Meghan had the kids and they weren’t exposed to Jim post-Nashville. Who goes on a trip during a pandemic? Seems like Jim is willing to do anything and everything to make Meghan look bad.
