Vanderpump Rules’ James Kennedy has something to celebrate! After watching some pretty horrendous behavior this season , James decided to try and go sober once and for all, and so far he’s sticking to it.
Speaking out to PageSix, James spoke out on being nine months sober and how it has affected his life. Since going sober, James admitted that his professional life has improved and has his sights set high for the upcoming year:
“I’m gonna be basically making a bunch of songs, house music tracks, kind of inspired by the Do LaB at Coachella. It was actually my girlfriend Raquel’s idea and I fell in love with it. I thought it was genius and it would basically challenge me for the next year.”
As for his overall sobriety, James admits it has had an overall amazing impact on his life stating:
“It’s been a beautiful nine months. I found a new passion for deejaying sober, which is actually what was one of my biggest things was, you know, ‘What am I going to feel like when I’m actually performing in front of people? I used to drink a lot before shows. Mask all the excitement. Mask all the anxiety with booze and whatever, and that took a huge stop.” As for his future? James is taking it one step at a time but states that he will “continue to sober out for the rest of 2020, for sure.”
He continues to perform sober and is touring as a DJ with former The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise star Grant Kemp.
This season has been painful to watch regarding James behavior and I feel sobriety is necessary for him at this point. I feel that Lala has done a 180 after going sober and hope it does the same for James.
