Ramona Singer Reveals Lyme Disease Diagnosis; Says She Feels “Very Lucky and Very Blessed”

Real Housewives of New York OG Ramona Singer is feeling “very lucky and very blessed” after being diagnosed with Lyme disease.

On Wednesday Ramona revealed the shocking news on Instagram, she later opened up further about the diagnosis to E! News.

According to Ramona, she began to not feel well around Valentine’s Day. A friend suggested she go see internist Dr. Bernard Schayes, who ordered a full blood panel on the RHONY star. She was also prescribed Prednisone for her fever and congestion.

The medicine initally helped but her symptoms quickly returned. When her blood panels came back, Ramona was informed that she has Lyme disease, and quickly prescribed an antibiotic.

Ramona believes she possibly infected at her Hamptons home where she spends quite a bit of time.

However, there is a silver lining. Ramona was diagnosed very early and will be retested in a month.

“You must get tested once a year, especially if you’re in an area where there are deer,” she told E! News. “But, we caught it early and I’m very lucky and very blessed.”

The RHONY star is also working closely with Dr. Daryl Gioffre to build up her immune system with an “alkaline diet.”

Despite being a little rundown, Ramona says she feels fine otherwise.

“[Her doctor] said everything else is great,” she told E! News. “‘You’re a strong woman, very healthy and you can easily live to 95.’ I told him I want to live to 100.”

From the looks of it, Ramona’s recent diagnosis isn’t holding her back at all. The RHONY star recently jetted off to Aspen and has been living it up in NYC.
