Bravo star Jeff Lewis has a very interesting theory about why veteran Housewives Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson were fired from the Real Housewives of Orange County.
It’s no secret that in mid-January Vicki and Tamra both announced their exits from RHOC. While initally fans believed they left the show on their own accord it was later revealed that they were fired as Bravo was in search of some new blood to shake up the OC.
Tamra later revealed that she turned down a huge offer to return to RHOC for three episodes of season 15 to wrap up her storyline. She also said that her ex-husband Simon Barney’s cancer diagnosis also played a role in her decision to turn down the offer.
However, Tamra has also hinted that she may be back on RHOC sooner-than-later.
During a February 29th appearance on Jeff Lewis Live, Tamra revealed that she’s been approached to do another reality show since being fired from RHOC. Tamra says she ran the offer by her former boss Andy Cohen who told her to hold off on signing on to another show.
It seems that Andy believes that Tamra will be back on RHOC for season 16.
“It was a job to me and when this job ended, I never thought, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m going to get another show,’ because I don’t have agents,” Tamra explained on the SiriusXM show. “Well, I’ve been approached. Andy told me to hold off on signing any kind of contract, run it past him first cause he says that I’ll be back next year.”
Bravo forcing Tamra to take a season off from RHOC gives the network the chance to renegotiate the veteran Housewife’s massive salary.
According to Jeff, this is exactly why Bravo let Tamra go. Jeff insists that Bravo didn’t fire Tamra because she wasn’t bringing the drama instead they let her go so they could renegotiate and slash her salary in half.
“It’ll be half of what you make today,” Jeff told Tamra about the money Bravo will offer her to return to RHOC. “I think it’s all about money [and] that advertisers are not paying what they used to. I don’t think it’s as profitable as it was and I think they have to go through and they have to cost-cut.”
The Real Housewives of Orange County are expected to return to Bravo for season 15 in mid-to-late 2020.
Thoughts on Jeff’s theory? Do you think Tamra will be back for season 16 fo RHOC?
