I think we all know that reality TV isn’t reality, but can they at least make it a little less obvious?
In the most recent episode of Vanderpump Rules, Ariana Madix was called out as she was visibly sporting two different hairstyles and makeup looks during the scene where she discussed her differences with LVP. The scene was supposed to be a raw and authentic moment where Ariana and LVP discussed Ariana’s restlessness with her current career and also Ariana and Lisa having differences on Lisa’s comments regarding Tom Sandoval. The moment was overshadowed by the fact that Ariana was sporting a short bob with heavy eyeliner for the first half of the conversation, and by the second scene she had longer hair and minimal makeup. So what gives?
Ariana ended up defending the scene and the show by stating that re-shoots are common and doesn’t change the fact that the show authentically showcases their lives by stating:
“Pickups are in every season and every episode. Happens when something doesn’t line up, a shot is blurry, etc. just a way to fill in the gaps. nothing about pickups makes the show inauthentic or our conversations less real.”
“Please don’t speak on this without knowledge of how we film. This is my real life.”
Ariana’s co-star Lala Kent was also called out for her changing necklaces during a recent scene on Pump Rules.

#PumpRules fans are calling season 8 of the show “overproduced” “manufactured”after some major continuity issues were spotted. Fans noticed that @lalakent’s jewelry changed while she was talking to Carter last week. And during this week’s episode they found it weird that Ariana Madix’s hair/makeup strikingly changed while she was chatting with LVP. SWIPE ?? to see some of the complaints and @ariana252525’s response!
I’m going to side with Ariana on this one. Everyone knows that reality shows have to re-shoot scenes to maintain story-lines and to ensure that shots look clear. We all remember when Kim Kardashian was called out on re-shooting a major scene right after her divorce with Kris Humphries, so this is no shock to reality fans. While it should have been caught, I don’t think it will have any impact on VPR fans.
Vanderpump Rules airs on Tuesday’s at 9/8 CST.
