Brandi Redmond is taking some time away from the spotlight after a racially insensitive video of resurfaced online last week.
Last week following part one of the Real Housewives of Dallas reunion, a video of Brandi from 2017 mysteriously resurfaced online. In the video, Brandi can be heard using a mock Asian accent while talking about her squinty eyes.
Days after the video appeared online the RHOD star publically apologized, tweeting, “A video resurfaced of me from years ago which at the time I had posted then quickly deleted then immediately apologized for my insensitivity. I would like to once again sincerely apologize for my offensive actions.”
On Friday, Brandi was noticeably absent from the latest episode of her podcast Weekly Dose of BS which she co-hosts with her RHOD co-star and BFF Stephanie Hollman.
A producer for the podcast addressed Brandi’s absence and revealed that the RHOD star had checked herself into a wellness center to “reflect and better herself.”
“Brandi has checked into a wellness center to reflect and better herself,” the rep explained. “She will be back with us next week. We support her on this journey of healing and ask that you join us in that.”

#RHOD star Brandi Redmond has reportedly checked into a wellness center “to reflect and better herself” after a video of her mocking Asians surfaced online. This news comes after Stephanie Holman revealed on Wednesday’s #WWHL that Brandi was “struggling with the shame” of making that video three years ago ? Thoughts on this news?
Stephanie also addressed Brandi seeking therapeutic help on Twitter, writing, “Yes, she has checked in to a therapeutic healing center. I am sending her lots of love and prayers during this time of reflection and healing- I hope you can join me in that! We should all spread more love through social media #RHOD.”
She also shut down one fan’s claim that Brandi was doing this to “gain sympathy” while the scandal to “blows over.”
“I hope she is here for the right reasons, and not to just buy her time til this blows over or to gain sympathy. In which case, I truly hope she takes this time to reflect, grow and heal whatever it is inside that caused her to make that video. #rhod,” a fan tweeted.
Stephanie clapped back in the nicest way possible and defended her BFF.
“I hate that you think she would be doing this for any reason other than personal growth and reflection. I am very proud of her for taking these steps to better herself,” Stephanie replied.
This isn’t the first time Stephanie has defended Brandi. On Wednesday’s WWHL, Stephanie made it clear that she “absolutely” does not think Brandi is racist and says that Brandi is “struggling with the shame” of this video resurfacing.
The Real Housewives of Dallas will return for season 5 in mid-to-late 2020.
