Why the OG’s of VPR Can’t Relate to the New Cast – Plus Are They Copying Drama for Ratings?

Looks like the OG’s of SUR aren’t exacting gel-ing with the newbies!

According to Page Six Katie Schwartz and Stassi Schroeder are now considered the older, more responsible cast members and are having trouble relating to the new cast. Bravo has decided to refresh the cast for season eight and has included Beau Clark, Brett Caprioni, Charli Burnett, Danica Dow, Dayna Kathan, Max Boyens and Raquel Leviss for the upcoming season. Despite Raquel and Beau having obvious romantic connections to the group, Katie and Stassi spoke out at BravoCon about not being able to relate to the upcoming season’s drama.

According to Katie, “Some of them are just a lot younger and their problems are like nothing I’m concerned with.” Stassi confirmed that it’s  “Nothing I can relate to.” Ahh how soon we forget how young and stupid we once, don’t we?

Stassi has a feeling that the newbies are craving some screen time as she thinks that they are copying story-lines that worked for the hit show previously stating: “it feels flattering because they’re just copying it.” Katie agreed adding: “Rather than like something new and different and fresh, it’s trying to emulate. But they just met at the restaurant. They weren’t people who necessarily knew each other before like we all did. We all met at the restaurant, but prior to the show.”

Personally I love VPR but am not going to be all in if the new cast is just acting crazy for the sake of screen time. I agree that the show has worked as the story lines were real and the group’s chemistry was genuine. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if the new cast is a hit or a swing and a miss.

Thoughts on the new cast addition? Will you be watching?
