Tinsley Mortimer has officially left The Real Housewives of New York City!
According to People, Tinsley has quit after an ultimatum was made by her fiancé, Scott Kluth, before their engagement last month. RHONY co-star, Luann de Lesseps, has confirmed that Tinsley has quit the show and has stopped filming scenes for it.
Luann recently revealed during her ‘Countess and Friends’ cabaret show at the Borgata Hotel and Casino that Tinsley was “not filming anymore.”
Although, Tinsley did appear with her fellow RHONY co-stars during BravoCon in early November in New York City. However; rumors were swirling that she quit the show after she skipped the cast trip to Mexico this month.
Sources told People, “Scott gave her an ultimatum: ‘me or the show,’ and she chose him. He loves the limelight but hated the negative effect the show had on their relationship. And Tinsley, she’s desperate to make the relationship work and was on the outs with the group as it was. It was much easier for her to walk away from the friendships she was never going to have to fight for the relationship she always wanted.”
Tinsley and Scott officially got engaged in November. He popped the questions on the steps of the Chicago Water Tower.
Back in June when the couple were on a break, Tinsley told People that the show was putting a strain on their relationship. She said, “He tried. It was just too much for him. My life is my life. The show is an important part of my life. I understand that there are people that don’t always want to be exposed to that and I can’t assume that they would. It’s a give and a take.”
Luann said during a Q&A session that Tinsley’s mother, Dale Mercer, was “probably jumping for joy” with happiness over the engagement news. However; Luann said that Dale probably isn’t happy that Tinsley left the RHONY. Luann shared, “I think she’s more upset that Tinsley’s not filming anymore now that she’s marrying Scott than Tinsley is.” She added, “I wish her all the best. She seems very happy and I want her to be happy and get married. That’s what she wants to do. She’s very traditional. She wants to have a baby. It’s time.”
Congrats, Tinsley & Scott! I’m happy for Tins. She has been wanting to get married and have a baby and I’m glad she’s doing that. However; I’m going to miss her on the RHONY! I think she made the right decision, though. I would choose love over reality TV, too.
The Real Housewives of New York will return to Bravo for Season 12 in early 2020.
