Vicki recently revealed that she will not be returning to The Real Housewives of Orange County unless she’s in a full-time role. Vicki has appeared on every season of the RHOC, but this season she was in a reduced role. However; she still has been appearing frequently on the show. Vicki announced over the weekend at BravoCon in New York City, “I’m never coming back reduced again.” If she comes back next season she is ready to “whoop it up!”
According to People, Vicki said that she “signed the reduced role contract in January” and that it was “one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.” Vicki added that it’s hard to know when it’s time to walk away from the show, and she shared that she had just been discussing that backstage with Kyle Richards, who is the OG of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Kyle said, “As long as we’re having fun still. I know there’s a lot of drama and a lot of conflict, but it’s also a lot of fun.”
Vicki told Jerry O’Connell on his talk show back in August that she wasn’t planning on leaving the show. Vicki had stated, “Our producer, Scott Dunlop, said, ‘Unless they kick you off the horse, don’t voluntarily get off the horse.’ So, I’m still on the horse! I’m still riding the pony. I don’t know what my future is, but I’m having fun and they’re my friends. I have very much love for my franchise, a love for what I’ve created [and] a lot of love for my cast, we’ve been through hell and back. But truthfully, it’s our reality. It’s what my life has gone through for the last 14 years. And it’s been some bumpiness.”
Vicki also recently talked about her prediction that former RHOC star, Meghan King Edmonds and Jim Edmonds’ marriage wasn’t going to work. Vicki said at BravoCon, “I knew they were never going to make it.” She added, “She’s so awful. She’s not very kind and I just saw them so disconnected.” Plus, Vicki said that she even felt this way when they got married back in 2014. Vicki said, “I thought, ‘You’re newlyweds?!’ I can peg people coming down the aisle. They’re not going to make it, they’re not.”
After season 10, Meghan had told People, “I have never been friends with Vicki and after last season I can promise I will never be friends with her.”
Vicki had predicted that Meghan and Jim wouldn’t last, and she had said to talk to her in five years. Meghan joked about Vicki’s prediction back in 2017 on Twitter, tweeting, “The three years Vicki gave my marriage is almost up! Uh oh!” Vicki had then wrote, “I think I actually gave it 5, and then retracted because it appears you and Jimmy are very happy!”
Sadly, it ended up being true. Meghan and Jim are in the middle of divorcing right now after multiple allegations of cheating. Meghan has also accused Jim of cheating with one of their nannies for their children. They’ve been going through a difficult and dramatic time. I’m wishing all the best for the family!
As for the OG of the OC, I hope that Vicki comes back full-time next season! She’s been appearing a lot this season anyway, and many of the storylines revolve around her. I think she should keep her orange. Plus, Vicki is currently planning her wedding with her fiancé, Steve Lodge. I’m excited to see what happens next on the RHOC!
