The OG of the OC has filed a lawsuit, under the name Jane Roe, against Kelly over three statements she allegedly made about Vicki during the cast trip to Key West:
–“You prey on older people.”
– “You are a con woman.”
– “You engaged in ‘fraud.'”
Apparently, Vicki’s worried about how Kelly’s comments on the Real Housewives of Orange County could affect her business and reputation.
Vicki insists the claims are lies and says she told producers that in writing, explaining that the comments are false and could damage her career if aired.
In the lawsuit, Vicki points out that she’s never been sued once in the last 31 years of her career and adds that she has an A-Plus Rating with the Better Business Bureau.
Initally Vicki was also suing Real Housewives of Orange County producers at Bravo and NBCUniversal but later dropped those lawsuits.
Media outlets quickly figured out that Jane Roe was, in fact, Vicki. In the court docs, Roe “describes herself as a TV personality on ‘RHOC’ who is also a retirement planning specialist and prez of an insurance and financial services company,” according to TMZ.
As for Kelly’s comments, it’s unclear if the comments will ever air on the current season of RHOC. In the trailer for season 14, fans already heard Kelly dub Vicki, a “con woman.”
However, Vicki believes Kelly’s comment will air. Vicki came to this conclusion after watching the final episodes of season 14, in preparation for the upcoming reunion, and saw that producers left Kelly’s comment in the episode.
It turns out, Vicki isn’t asking producers to kill the whole episode and instead wants the three sentences cut; saying producers “will suffer no harm to their popular TV program by removing a fraction of an overall episode.”
The RHOC OG is suing to block the episode from airing as is as well as “defamation, libel, trade libel.” Vicki is also seeking damages.
Meanwhile, Radar Online reports that “Vicki will not be allowed at the reunion if she continues her suit against Kelly.”
The RHOC season 14 reunion films Friday, November 8th, according to Us Weekly.
As many fans know, the Housewives cannot sue each other while on the show, which makes Vicki’s lawsuit quite baffling. But perhaps the rules are different for Vicki now that she’s a friend and not an official member of the cast.
Only time will tell how this all plays out! Stay tuned!
The Real Housewives of Orange County air Tuesdays at 9 pm EST on Bravo.
