The OG of the OC infamously predicted their split many years ago. Oddly enough, Vicki’s prediction came true almost to the day.
“Talk to me in 5 years when you’re divorced,” screamed Vicki during an episode of the Real Housewives of Orange County in 2015.
Now, Vicki is addressing Jim and Meghan’s ugly split, which has taken over the Real Housewives universe.
“While I did say on the show that I predicted Meghan and Jim’s marriage would last five years, I, of course, never really wanted that to come true and certainly didn’t think by putting it out there the way I did that it would be an omen of any sort,” she tells Life & Style.
“If you remember back during the time I said that, Meghan had come on the show, and she was not very nice to me at all. She came on trying to make a name for herself by taking my relationship with you know who, tearing it down, and trying to claim that I was in on a cancer scam,” Vicki added.
“Yes, I chose the wrong man to date and, yes, at the time I stood by him because I believed what he was telling me was the truth,” the OG of the OC explained.
“We were able to move on from that which is great; however, I want the best for her and don’t like to see her hurting, and my heart hurts for her and her three babies,” Vicki revealed.
“They are already in the press going back and forth, and, as someone who went through a very public divorce, it’s only going to get worse before the dust starts to settle,” she points out.
“She is a young woman who went and had children with him, and that will only add to the toughness of this situation,” Vicki adds.
Vicki says her “heart truly goes out to Meghan during this tough time,” despite their past issues. “I hope that, with time, she will find peace and happiness again.”
Meanwhile, Jim is speaking out, once again, about his divorce from Meghan and the allegations that he cheated with their children’s 22-year-old nanny, Carly Wilson.
In a statement to Us Weekly, Jim reveals that he’s emotionally exhausted after all of the media coverage that has occurred over the past week.
“After what has been one of the most emotionally exhausting sleepless five days of my life resulting from a combination of anger, embarrassment, trying to understand, sadness to simply flat. I would like to make this statement:
The last couple years have been rough on my wife and me for many reasons. Marriage is difficult but add three small children under three, two adolescent children, two adult children, building a house and two busy, hard-working spouses and the stress of living our lives in the public eye. At times we are exhausted and feel our life has become one of distrust, kids, work, house, sleep and repeat.
It saddens me tremendously that my wife is hurt. After having a few days to digest the situation, I realize that something that occurred in a split second spiraled out of control with no way to stop it. We were both separately surprised to find out that the media had received details of our private situation without our knowledge.
We both carry an extremely large load and most of our issues could have been worked out if we had more time for us. With our busy careers and the addition of our son’s medical needs, we were lacking quality time together.
I’m removing myself and all of my family from this unnecessary publicity that I obviously have never quite enjoyed. I have way too much love for my wife and kids for this to happen and it’s time for us to get back to the private life we used to live. Meghan is a truly special woman who my kids are so fortunate to have as their mother.
Hoping for some peace, normalcy, and the ability to move forward in a healthy, happy direction for every single person involved.
I love my family and will make it right again.”
The Real Housewives of Orange County air Tuesdays at 9 pm EST on Bravo.
