Heather Thomson is discussing everything about her time on The Real Housewives of New York City!
Heather recently appeared on Jess Rothschild and David Yontef’s podcast Out in the Wild, to discuss all things RHONYC. Heather was full-time on the hit series for a few seasons, but she left the show back in 2015. Heather recently weighed in on why she thinks that Bravo honcho, Andy Cohen, and alum of the RHONYC, Carole Radziwill, had a falling out. Plus, she revealed why she thinks that alum of the RHONY, Aviva Drescher, was fired from the show.
Heather said that Andy and Carole knew each other well, prior to Carole joining the cast. Heather noted that Andy and Carole had a friendship before she became an official Real Housewife. Heather explained, “I think they had a difference of opinion on producing shows. You have to remember, they had a relationship outside the show. Housewives don’t get to comment on the editing but I think [Carole] and Andy could have offline conversations about maybe things that Carole thought they should do differently, and those didn’t get anywhere and I think that was frustrating for [Carole] probably.”
According to Heather, the fact that Carole had experience producing and editing shows – led to her fallout with Andy. Heather said, “Carole is a producer. She has Emmys. Before she was a housewife, she worked for ABC and she produced shows and she really understands the game. I think at the end of the day, some of what happened, in terms of editing, they had some differences of opinion on and therefore they had some conflicts through that.”
Heather and Carole are still good friends to this day. They had both joined the show together during season five. Heather shared, “She always was and she always will be [my closest friend.] We really forged a true and honest friendship on that show.”
Aviva also joined the cast during season 5. According to Heather, Aviva was fired from the show after season six. Furthermore; Heather said that it didn’t have anything to do with Aviva tossing her leg in the restaurant. Heather said, “Aviva didn’t get fired for the leg. She got fired because she was difficult as a cast member to work with. Aviva never went on any of the trips with us. So you create this dynamic and then the trips are supposed to be the big coming to a head with either fighting or making-up, so Aviva being such a strong player when she would then bow out of the trips, it screwed up the dynamic.”
The seasons of the RHONYC with Heather, Carole, Aviva and the rest of the ladies were entertaining! I’d love it if they all came back on the show. I’m looking forward to next season!
Thoughts on this all? Thoughts on what Heather had to say? Thoughts on the fallout between Andy and Carole? Thoughts on the reports that Aviva was fired for being difficult to work with? Will any of these ladies come back full-time on the RHONYC? Who do you think the castmates should be? Share below!
