Pump Rules Star Lala Kent Celebrates 1 Year of Sobriety!

Lala Kent is celebrating one year of sobriety!

The Vanderpump Rules star announced the milestone in a post on her Instagram account.

“Today, I am 1 year sober. This is the biggest accomplishment I’ve ever had in my life and the one I am most proud of,” Lala explained. “The moments I have had in the past year have been a blessing that I have been present for. I didn’t have that before. Today, I will celebrate my 1 year birthday because it’s exciting. It is also humbling. Because today, and every day after that, I will fight for it. But I won’t give it up for anything.”

During season 7 of Pump Rules, Lala first revealed to her castmates that she had given up alcohol after a night of drinking with her fiancé Randall Emmett went too far.

Then in May 2019, Lala confessed to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that she was an alcoholic. Lala said she knew she needed help when she spent an entire family vacation wasted.

“I went with my family and Rand’s family to Disney World, and I was drunk four days straight from morning until night,” Lala told Cohen. “I get on the plane. I’m face-chugging out of a bottle, and the next morning I woke up and said, ‘I will never live this way again,’ and I reached out and got help.”

Back in December 2018, Lala celebrated 50 days of sobriety and opened up to Cosmopolitan about how supportive her fiancé Randall has been during her recovery.

“My fiancé always says I have this sixth sense where I know when things have gotten to a point where they need to change, so I can’t really pinpoint one incident,” she explained at the time. “When I really came to the conclusion that I am in that zone of having a problem, I just said enough’s enough. I picked up the phone; I called this sponsor that had been recommended to me. It’s the best decision of my whole life.”

Speaking of her fiancé, Randall gushed about Lala’s 1-year anniversary on his Instagram story.

“Happy 1 year birthday, Lala Kent. I am so proud of you: one year sober. The world is a better place, and you are an inspiration to everybody. And I am seriously so proud of you and your commitment. I love you, and you are the most amazing woman in the world.”

Vanderpump Rules will return to Bravo for season 8 in late 2019 or early 2020.
