A big fat Italian (and Greek) wedding is in the works in the Garden State!
Former Real Housewives of New Jersey star Kathy Wakile is busy planning her daughter Victoria Wakile’s dream wedding.
“So, that’s going on crazy,” Kathy told Us Weekly about the wedding that will take place in 2020. “We’re having fun with that.”
In August, Victoria and Teddy Kosmidis got engaged at the Liberty House Restaurant in Jersey City, New Jersey.
At the time, Kathy and her husband Rich Wakile gushed about their daughter’s engagement on social media.
“I’m beyond words and emotions tonight! My Victoria and our new member of our family Teddy have made it official! THE WORLD IS INVITED TO THE #WEDDING,” Rich wrote on Instagram.
“Richie and I are overjoyed with emotion and joy. We couldn’t be happier. We love our future son!” Kathy later told Us Weekly about the engagement.
Meanwhile, Kathy also talked about RHONJ and revealed why she’s grateful she’s no longer living her life in front of the cameras.
Kathy starred on RHONJ from seasons 3 thru 5. She was then downgraded to a friend for seasons 6 and 7 before leaving the show altogether. Since leaving RHONJ Kathy remains in contact with her former castmates Jacqueline Laurita, Dolores Catania, and Caroline Manzo.
It turns out that Kathy is also a “good friend” of current NJ Housewife Jennifer Aydin, who joined the show during season 9. Oddly enough Jennifer is also very friendly with Kathy’s cousin and RHONJ OG Teresa Giudice.
However, Kathy is grateful she’s no longer living her life in front of the cameras.
“I’m enjoying less drama because there’s no drama in my kitchen,” Kathy confessed. “The only drama I’m worried about is not to burn the sauce, you know.”
In fact, Kathy admits she has no interest in returning to RHONJ and says that she and her family have moved on from the show.
“You know there’s always conversations about that, but it’s not for me,” she said. “I really enjoy the life that I’ve built with my husband and traveling. We are seeing the world whenever we can, and tasting food all around the world so that’s really what keeps us busy.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey returns for season 10 on Wednesday, November 6th at 9 pm EST on Bravo.
