Kyle Richards’ husband, Mauricio Umansky, is opening up about the legal woes and rumors surrounding him. Mauricio has his own real estate company, The Agency. In an interview with Inman, Mauricio opened up about the lawsuit he’s been dealing with in regards to the sale of a $32 million dollar mansion in Malibu. Kyle addressed it a little bit when it was brought up during The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion. However, Mauricio is now discussing it and setting the record straight!
In an interview, Mauricio said, “There are two sides to every story. Mine has yet to be told. It’ll be told soon.” In regards to the business side of it, he said, “It’s not affecting our daily business, it’s not affecting our operations.”
Mauricio was accused of wrongdoing by Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, whose father is the President of Equatorial Guinea. He alleged that Mauricio did not inform him of certain offers on his home in Malibu, California. He claimed that Mauricio did this so that he could buy and sell the house for a significant profit. However, before the sale of the home, Teodoro was accused of using stolen funds to buy the property, and the government took over ownership.
Inman reported that Mauricio said in a statement, “One day, my side will be told, and I am very confident we will be vindicated.”
Mauricio added, “If I had to do it again in hindsight, I would do it the same way I did it last time. I wouldn’t change a thing.”
As for the rumors that this is effecting Mauricio’s business – he said it’s not true. Mauricio said, “It is not affecting anybody at The Agency. I don’t know one agent who has left The Agency over that lawsuit.” Mauricio boasts having the top realtors in the area. However, he has to get rid of people if they are not producing. Mauricio said, “We switch out non-producing agents for producing agents. So if you didn’t perform, you didn’t have a chance to be at The Agency.”
Kyle’s sister, Kathy Hilton, is married to Rick Hilton – who Mauricio used to work with. Mauricio confirmed that he and Rick are in a good place now. Mauricio worked with Rick at the Hilton & Hyland real estate firm. Mauricio explained, “Rick and I are good. We’ve made up; we’re family.” In addition, he said nobody in the family is feuding with any of the Hiltons.
Mauricio shared, “The families have made up. We’ve been good for over a year. We were definitely in a fight for a while. And it was real. But the families have made up, and it was fantastic. We’ve been good for solidly over a year. At the end of the day, time heals everything. Eventually, when you put family together for different events: Christmas, Thanksgiving, a birthday party — time eventually heals it. And I think that’s what happened with us. And thank God.”
I’m happy to hear this, and I look forward to next season of the RHOBH!
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are currently filming season 10 and will be back on Bravo TV next year.
