Kathryn Dennis has recently been dragged into more legal drama. The Southern Charm star was bizarrely accused of burglary and breaking into her former friend’s home. According to Radar Online and police documents, Kathryn’s former friend reported that Kathryn was breaking in and filed a false police report. The Mount Pleasant Police Department was dispatched to a false burglary that was allegedly in progress on September 27, 2019. In a weird twist of events, the woman who falsely accused Kathryn used to be roommates with Ashley Jacobs!
Lara Dawson reported that her now ex-friend, Kathryn, was “forcing entry into her residence as she was on the phone with dispatch.” The report read, “Ms. Dawson was adamant that she was observing this as it occurred, as she was just returning from a Verizon store to her residence.”
It was claimed that Kathryn was accompanied by a “large black male with a red shirt.” She also alleged that they were in a black Honda SUV with an unknown Texas tag. According to the report, “Ms. Dawson reported that Ms. Dennis tried to force entry to the front door, and then she observed them go to the rear of the residence, then return to the vehicle and place something in the trunk.”
Lara claimed that there were signs of forced entry on her screen door. However; police “did not locate anyone inside, or observe any signs of forced entry to any windows or the front or rear door to the residence.” The officers did state that there was pre-existing damage to the framing of the door.
The report read: “In conclusion, there did not appear to be any evidence supporting forced entry, or an attempt at forced entry. Ms. Dawson was absolutely clear in her statement identifying Kathryn Dennis as the person she observed attempt to force entry into her home.”
She claimed she was friends with Kathryn since January or February, until just a few weeks ago. Meanwhile, Kathryn was at her attorney’s office the entire time. She had been there since late morning. Kathryn’s attorney verified her alibi.
Lara was placed under arrest for filing a false police report. She was held on a $1,500 bond and was released on September 28, 2019. Lara was roomies with Ashley, the ex-girlfriend of Kathryn’s ex-boyfriend and the father of her children, Thomas Ravenel. According to Lara, she lived with Ashley from September 2018 to January 2019. She claimed that Thomas had a drinking problem. According to The Blast, Lara had helped Kathryn in her custody battle with Thomas.
She claimed that she was told that he was “tired of taking care of his children” and relied on their nanny to care for the children. Kathryn had briefly lost custody of her children in 2016 after failing a drug test. She got joint custody after completing rehab and becoming sober. They were granted joint custody in August of 2019.
Wow! Kathryn can’t seem to catch a break. I’m glad that she was with her attorney and has an alibi and can put this whole situation to bed. It’s so crazy. I don’t get why someone would lie on a police report and blame Kathryn for breaking in – especially when it was easily discovered that it was fabricated. I’m hoping for the best for Kathryn!
