Things just keep getting worse for Gina Kirschenheiter’s soon-to-be ex-husband Matt Kirschenheirter!
According to TMZ, the Orange County D.A. is charging Matt with domestic violence and false imprisonment both which are felony charges.
This stems from Matt’s arrest on June 22 for domestic violence against his ex-wife Gina, who claims he allegedly choked her and hit her “all over” during a blowout fight.
According to Gina, she returned home from a night out and Matt showed up at her home at 2:00 AM and was “pounding on the door.” She explains that she went downstairs but by the time she got there Matt was already in the house.
Gina says Matt then “threw me down on the couch and threw some furniture around” and was “screaming in my face and saying he was going to kill me.”
“He ripped my bra off, then took a pillow and hit me on the side of the head with it hard. I begged him to stop…to calm down…but he kept hitting me,” she continued.
“He started to hit me on the side of the head with his open hand. When I tried to get up off of the couch, he threw me back down and began choking me. Then he started to hit me all over my body.”
She then ran out of the house screaming to her neighbors and rang the doorbell. Gina says Matt followed her and, “grabbed me and dragged me on the cement back into the house. He threw me back on the couch started hitting me again telling me he was going to kill me. His eyes were black and nothing I could say would bring him back to reality.”
Following the incident, Gina filed for a protective order, naming Matt as the respondent. The RHOC star also requested a domestic violence restraining order.
Matt allegedly “inflicted corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition” upon the RHOC star. The D.A. didn’t give details about the false imprisonment charge but usually, in domestic violence cases, it means that the accused prevented the victim from leaving.
The former RHOC couple’s divorce will be finalized on January 1, 2020.
Gina and Matt share three minor children – Nicholas, 6, Sienna, 5, and Luca, 3.
The Real Housewives of Orange County air Tuesdays at 9 pm EST on Bravo.
