Paul “PK” Kemsley is attempting to prevent his wife Dorit Kemsley‘s finances from being reviewed by the court in connection to his $1.2M legal battle with Nicos Kirzis, who loaned the reality star money back in 2011.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and her husband were ordered to show up to court on September 5th, 2019, with their financial records, bank statements, and documents proving their various sources of income.
However, now, PK is trying to do everything he can to stop that from happening.
In newly filed court documents, PK insists he doesn’t owe Kirzis a dime because his UK bankruptcy cleared the debt.
The reality star admits that Kirzis loaned him $1.2M in 2011, but only five months later he filed for bankruptcy and listed several loans including Kirzis in the filing. He claims the money owed was discharged in the bankruptcy case.
PK also “takes issue with Kirzis taking the battle to New York and now California, in an attempt to collect on the money.”
PK believes the entire case should be thrown out.
In his latest court filing, PK points out that Dorit was ordered to appear in court on Sept. 5th and have her bank accounts frozen but PK wants all that postponed until a judge reviews his case further. PK wants to wait until a judge determines if the debt was discharged under his 2011 bankruptcy before his wife is forced to appear in court. If the judge agrees with PK, then Dorit’s finances won’t need to be reviewed.
On September 3rd a judge was not persuaded by PK’s filing, that would prevent Dorit from showing up and sharing her fiances with the court, and denied his motion.
Dorit and PK will now have to show up to court later this month to present their financial records.
