While the Real Housewives of New Jersey OG looked calm and collected as she helped Gia get settled into her college dorm, it seems that Teresa, like every other parent of a freshman college, is struggling to adjust to her new reality at home.
“Teresa Giudice is struggling and having mixed emotions as Gia goes away to school,” a source close to the family tells HollywoodLife.
However, Teresa is thankful for her brother Joe Gorga and all his support and help. With Joe Giudice stuck in an ICE detention center, Joe Gorga stepped up and helped his sister move Gia into her dorm.
“She’s so thankful to have her brother Joe there to help her while Joe Giudice is away,” the source says.
“She always knew this day would come, but it’s a challenge not having Joe Giudice there to do this together,” the source adds. “Joe Gorga has really stepped up big time when it comes to helping the girls and doing things their dad would normally do.”
Of course, Teresa is so proud of Gia and all she’s accomplished but she will miss her being home with the family.
“Teresa is so happy for Gia who is beyond words excited to be a college student,” the source clarifies. However, the RHONJ star “will miss having Gia around every day.”
Adding that Gia “has helped out so much with her younger sisters [Gabriella, 15, Milania, 14, Audriana, 10] so her mom can go to work and have some time to herself,” the source explains.
“Teresa couldn’t be prouder of Gia, but she’s been very emotional,” the source continues. “It’ll be tough and an adjustment not seeing her daily. She will probably call her way too many times a day!”
Thankfully Rutgers is only an hour drive from Montville so Gia can easily come visit her mom, sisters, and family!
