Less than a week after it was revealed that Gina Kirschenheiter was awarded $10K a month in child and spousal support in her divorce from ex-Matt their split takes a strange twist.
Now Matt Kirschenheiter claims he can no longer afford to pay Gina $10k a month in support and wants her to pay him.
In new documents obtained by The Blast, Matt is back in court arguing that Gina is now the money maker and wants her to pay support for their three kids.
Matt claims that he was previously making $43K a month as an account manager until he was recently fired after his arrest for suspected domestic violence. After his arrest, his employer made it clear they “wanted nothing to do with Real Housewives of Orange County, made it clear that we must part ways.”
Since then Matt says it has “been difficult to obtain new employment…due to petitioner’s reality television role, there have been tabloid type publicity and online articles” about him.
Currently, Matt lists his income as zero. Although he does have $100K in the bank which includes his $75K severance from his former employer.
Matt says the support ruling was made based on his previous $42K a month salary and Gina’s $2,500 a month salary. But Matt’s now insists that Gina “actually earned approximately $68,000 in 2018, almost three times what she represented.”
Gina reportedly made $68,450 for season 13 of RHOC. $63,000 of that came from the production company behind “RHOC” and $5,450 from NBC/Universal. No word on how much she made for season 14.
He continued to explain that his current monthly expenses include, “$2,500 for rent, $600 on groceries, $400 on eating out, $1,250 for kid’s schooling costs and $4,700 on credit cards and his car payment for a grand total of $12,875.”
As for Gina, Matt says she makes “$10,000 a month in income from “RHOC” and endorsements/appearances.”
The former RHOC couple will be back in court on October 10th to battle it out over child and spousal support.
The Real Housewives of Orange County air Tuesdays at 9 pm EST on Bravo.
Thoughts on this all? Do you think Matt should still pay Gina child and spousal support? Should Gina have to pay Matt?
