Andy Cohen is sounding off on the possibility of a Vanderpump Rules Vegas spinoff!
After the success of Real Housewives, the next logical step was for Bravo was to attempt a spinoff show but the timing and cast of characters needed to be perfect. So, when Lisa Vanderpump became a fan favorite on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills it only made sense for Bravo to partner with the restauranter for a spinoff show featuring her West Hollywood eatery SUR.
Since then Vanderpump Rules has become one of Bravo’s most successful shows. But despite Pump Rules being one of the networks biggest hits, producer Andy Cohen knows that one successful spinoff show doesn’t mean another one’s guaranteed.
In fact, Andy’s not so sure lightning can strike twice which is why he’s hesitant about a Vanderpump Rules Vegas spinoff featuring LVP’s new cocktail garden at Caesars Palace.
“It’s not a show that you can just turn cameras on in a new place,” Cohen told Page Six. “Lindsay Lohan tried to do it with the Lohan beach thing. There also needs to be some rooting interest of why all these people are there together.”
Andy admits that when LVP pitched him and the network Vanderpump Rules she won them over when describing the “history that was there between the people at SUR.”
“I think what makes ‘Vanderpump Rules’ work is that those people have known each other for years and Lisa has known them for so many years,” Cohen added.
Meanwhile, LVP appears to be on board with the possibility of Vanderpump Rules Vegas spinoff. In fact, LVP says she believes some of the original Pump Rules stars would love to work in Vegas.
“I’m sure some of [the original cast] might want to work out there,” LVP reveals to ET. “I’m sure some of it will filter over there.”
Thoughts on Andy’s comments? Do you think a Vanderpump Rules Vegas spinoff will happen down the line?
