Justice is being served!
Alum and OG of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Dina Manzo, and her fiancé at the time, David Cantin, were assaulted when they went back to their New Jersey home in Holmdel in May of 2017. The couple had been celebrating a Holy occasion with RHONJ star, Teresa Giudice, because Dina is the Godmother to Teresa’s youngest daughter. When Dina and Dave returned to their home, the intruders were waiting for them and they were attacked and robbed. Now a man has been indicted in the home invasion and attack.
According to USA Today, “James Mainello also faces robbery, aggravated assault and other charges in the indictment handed up Monday by a Monmouth County grand jury.”
Prosecutors say that it was him along with another man, that were waiting when Dina and Dave returned to their home. Dave was badly beaten with a baseball bat, and Dina was repeatedly kicked. They were both tied up with zip ties and the intruders stole Dina’s engagement ring and a lot of cash.
Here are a couple of photos taken just hours before the tragedy:
According to sources, “Prosecutors say DNA on a zip tie matched Mainello’s.” His lawyer says that he denies these charges. It’s being reported that he faces up to 20 years in prison.
Dina revealed a few months ago that she and Dave are officially married.
My thoughts and prayers are with Dina and Dave. I feel so bad that this happened to them. Dina is a very zen and spiritual person. On the show she was always upbeat and positive. I’m still shocked that this happened, and especially that it occurred right after Dina and Teresa were celebrating a sacred day as Catholics. I hope that this can give Dina some peace of mind!
