Billie Lee has officially bowed out and quit Vanderpump Rules in the middle of filming season 8!
For the last few seasons, Billie has played a part-time role on VPR but now she’s saying goodbye to the show because she “never signed a contract,” a source tells HollywoodLife.
“Billie Lee was struggling handling the drama that comes with being a cast member on Vanderpump Rules. It was truly messing with her mental well being,” the insider confesses. “She also was having trouble vibing with the other cast members except Sandoval, James [Kennedy] and Scheana [Shay], so she wanted to go.”
However, it turns out Billie’s departure also has a lot do with a disagreement she had with production.
“Production asked Billie to partake in a storyline that she is adamant isn’t true — that she and Sandoval hooked up, which will be spoken about and [is] a big storyline on this season of Vanderpump Rules,” the insider reveals. Apparently, “things got so bad that she refused to wear a mic at Sandoval’s recent birthday celebration” during filming on July 9, the insider adds.
Yet, the source continues saying that Billie let producers know she didn’t want to participate in season 8 long before this drama came about.
“She let producers know about three or four months ago that she didn’t want to come back as a cast member at all,” the source points out.
Despite her exit from VPR, Billie isn’t cutting off all her friends from SUR.
“Since she is still friends with a few of them, you will most likely see her here and there,” the source explains, adding that Billie will be working on new ventures moving forward. “She has a lot of other projects she is working on, like a potential book and her LGBTQ activism, so she wants to focus on that.”
Vanderpump Rules is expected to return to Bravo for season 8 in late 2019.
