An RHOC Insider Reveals Why Vicki Gunvalson Was Demoted For Season 14

Fans were shocked when they learned that the OG of the OC, Vicki Gunvalson, was demoted from a full-time Housewife to a friend for the upcoming fourteenth season of the Real Housewives of Orange County.

Now, an RHOC snitch is revealing why Vicki lost her spot as a full-time Housewife.

“The network wants to skew younger,” the source said about Vicki, who’s been a main cast member of RHOC in since the series premiere in 2006.

According to Radar Online, Vicki’s season 14 negotiations were met with resistance by Bravo executives.

“She was never offered a full-time housewife position,” said the source.

“They told her she could prove herself, but just an engagement won’t save you. Although that’s what she pitched to them.”

Vicki didn’t address her demotion directly after Bravo announced she wouldn’t be a Housewife for season 14.

However, in a post on Instagram, Vicki made it clear that she’s STILL the OG of the OC – now and forever.

“For the past 14 years, I’ve opened up my life, my loves, my ups and downs on The Real Housewives of Orange County. and I am proud to be the “OG of the OC”. I am back again this season right in the middle of the action, and I hope you have as much fun watching the show as I did living it in front of the cameras. Stay tuned to Bravo August 6th,” Vicki wrote.

As for Vicki’s future on RHOC, the insider says Bravo has no plans to make her a full-time Housewife in the near the future.
