Jim Edmonds is speaking about allegations he had an affair and cheated on his wife Meghan King Edmonds.
The former Real Housewives of Orange County couple‘s world was rocked on Thursday, when AllAboutTheTEA.com, published text messages allegedly sent from Jim to his mistress, who is cheekily referred to as the “baseball madame.” The site also claims that Jim sent clips of himself masturbating to his mistress. Said videos are said to have been sent on the same day his wife gave birth to their twin sons.
Now, Jim is speaking out. In a statement to Us Weekly, Jim denies having a “physical relationship” with his alleged mistress. However, Jim admits to engaging inappropriately with a woman who wasn’t his wife.
“Regrettably, I had a lapse in judgment. I engaged in an inappropriate conversation with this person,” Jim said in a statement. “At no time was there any type of relationship or physical contact. Absolutely none. This is someone trying to profit from my name. I am aware she has done this to others in the past.”
“Clearly, I made a very poor decision to expose myself and my family to this type of person. For this, I am truly sorry and sought forgiveness from my wife,” the statement continued. “I’m outraged over the intent to ruin my family and intend to take legal action. We were never having any problems in our marriage. My attorney is in possession of documents wherein this person has admitted fabricating large portions of her ‘story.’”
Jim added that he “never had any sort of a physical relationship outside of my marriage with her or anyone else.”
According to AllAboutTheTea, Jim had his mistress sign a non-disclosure agreement and paid her hush money to keep the affair hidden from his wife.
Meghan and Jim tied the knot in October 2014. They are parents of 2-year-old daughter Aspen and 12-month-old twin sons, Hart and Hayes.
The couple appeared on the Real Housewives of Orange County from seasons 10 thru 12.
