“Lisa only gets half of her pay for the season if she doesn’t go to the reunion, but she still chose not to go,” one insider explained to Us Weekly. “The women get half of their pay before shooting starts and the other half after the reunion. So Lisa lost money.”
Another source added, “Housewives don’t get fully paid for the season until it’s over and the reunion has been filmed.”
“That’s obviously a big decision to make, but part of what can keep Housewives from bailing with any old excuse,” the second source continued.
Despite the financial repercussions Vanderpump chose to skip the June 5th reunion taping. This news didn’t come as a surprise to most fans especially since Vanderpump stopped filming halfway through season 9. Vanderpump also gave fans a heads up the day before the reunion by announcing that she wouldn’t be attending.
“I made the decision to leave. It was a very difficult year for me, personally and professionally,” Lisa said on Thursday, June 7. “I had wonderful things happen this year, opening up and TomTom and the cocktail garden in Vegas. The Housewives, it’s just, it’s emotionally too difficult to deal with.”
Vanderpump isn’t just done with RHOBH but she is done with her co-stars as well.
“I have a great relationship with [Bravo]; I just don’t have a great relationship with the women,” she explained. “After 17 episodes of them bashing me, I think I’ve had enough of all of them.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo.
