Apparently there won’t be wedding bells anytime soon for this southern belle!
Southern Charm’s Kathryn Dennis is known for her wild love life and unpredictable personality; however I think the split from her Italian-American Senator boyfriend was pretty predictable for any fan of the show.
Joseph “Joe” Abruzzo made his debut on the hit Bravo show when Kathryn mentioned she was dating someone new; however there were multiple red flags that had the group buzzing. First off, the technically still married disgraced senator had nude photos on the internet and then there were rumors of a rough history women which seemed a little too similar to Mr. Thomas Ravenel. Kathryn sure knows how to pick them!
According to Bravo’s the Daily Dish Joe “was a Democratic member of the Florida House of Representatives from 2008 to 2012, and then again from 2016 to 2018. He also served as a member of the Florida Senate from 2012 to 2016. He did not seek re-election to the Florida House of Representatives in 2018 while he went through a very public divorce with his wife, whom he married in 2015.”
Fortunately, Kathryn surrounds herself with strong, sensible women and it was this sisterhood that raised up the red flags that Kathryn had been ignoring:
“We just met whenever my friends had met him; I didn’t know him well enough to pick up on patterns to then make a decision whether or not to move forward. Whenever I noticed Danni [Baird] being upset with me because she didn’t agree with the way he talked to me or things he did, that’s when I started to think, hm, if my friends are turning on me, I do not need this man in my life. Girls are more important than any kind of dude.”
Apparently Kathryn “ghosted him” after Joe would “come out with these outrageous excuses” for not being in touch. Don’t get too excited Charmers as Kathryn may have broke up with Joe but is now dating a country singer named Hunter Price. At least it’s not another disgraced politician (or Whitney!)
