Luann de Lesseps may be living her best life as a “cabaret star” but her Real Housewives of New York co-stars aren’t believing the hype. Instead of feeding Lu’s ego her co-stars are attempting to bring her back down to earth, which is a lot harder than it looks.
In a preview for tonight’s episode of the Real Housewives of New York, Ramona Singer attempts to have a conversation with Luann about her diva behavior but it goes over her head. Instead, Lu claims that her co-stars don’t want to see her succeed.
Ramona takes one for the team and pulls Luann outside during breakfast while the rest of the ladies enjoy eggs a la Francaise. This is the first time Luann is interacting with any of the ladies since fleeing from dinner the night before.
“Last night was pretty awful, don’t you agree?” Luann says referring to her conversation with Bethenny Frankel the night before. The ladies first night in Miami was a doozy. First, Luann fled dinner after she claims the ladies attacked her, then Sonja Morgan crashed to the floor, and finally, Bethenny put Luann in her place. Bethenny was a straight shooter telling Luann that she was acting like a spoiled brat and that her cabaret success had inflated her ego to epic proportions. However, Luann didn’t believe a word Bethenny said.
“You know, girlfriends are supposed to build you up, not tear you down,” Luann tells Ramona. “I think they have a problem with my success is the problem.”
“Oh, I don’t think so,” Ramona replies. Luann quickly adds, “I love doing what I do. I found something I love.”
‘We love that you love that,” Ramona says, however, Luann doesn’t believe her and flips out.
“No, you don’t!” she fires back. “You try to rip it apart. All of them do! After falling on my f**king face, all they have to do is rip me down.”
Ramona then lays it all on the table and tells Luann that the group thinks she’s “aloof” and “condescending,” but Luann isn’t buying it and says they just don’t want to support her.
Cut to the rest of the cast, who are watching Luann and Ramona from the inside the house while having their own conversation about Luann.
Sonja says she doesn’t think any of the ladies can get through to Luann.
“She’s not aware of it, No. 1,” Dorinda Medley says. “And B, she doesn’t want to acknowledge it and C, she doesn’t believe it, so…”
“Well, she’s surrounded by people who tell her she’s God,” Sonja says, as the cameras move their focus back to Luann and Ramona.
“They also don’t realize I’m trying to stay sober and you’re getting wasted,” Luann says. “I can be around people who drink, I can’t be around sloppy drunks! And they don’t want to see me do well, which is really disappointing. They don’t want to see me doing well.”
“Luann, that is completely wrong!” Ramona scoffs. “Luann, we’re all very proud of how you turned your life around last year.”
